260.9Whp 260 for under a grand :D

I need wider de-cat pipe to hold boost at lower revs but apart from that i'm amazed at the results.

HKS super Dragger with de-cat - 225 (2nd hand)
APS Induction Kit with Spray Bottle - 175 (new - ebay)
Ecutek (499)

Total - 899

Started with 228.1Whp (300ATF) 300Lb-Ft

After a bit of magic 260.9Whp (343Bhp)

definitely value for money!

Congratulations, pretty impressive from quite a small outlay!

The only thing i need to solve is the CEL. It's just a case of fitting a resistor in the right place.

I would recommend a similar route to anyone with a 260.

Oli, mines going it to NR Autosport for Boost controller, ecu tek, 3" downpipe, Set of plugs, Super Dragger, Walbo fuel pump, so hopefully will get somewhere close to 340ish, going to northern RR once done to see what I get.

Hey fella, nice results !!!

Here are mine for comparison.

Car - 2004 Evo 8 260

Mods -
Ralliart Pack for Euro Evo (ECU and downpipe)
Ralliart 2.5 inch CAT back Exhaust
Ralliart Panel Filter

Main CAT is still fitted, you dont get CEL lights cuz the ralliart ECU removes the first CAT check.

Nice numbers there.. Even with a cat still in place.

I am going to try and get a 3inch de-cat to help the boost just after 3k rpm.

Whats the most anyone has got on a 260 with a standard turbo and standard cams?

21-01-2006, 17:14
don't know, think an itercooler will be my next step

21-01-2006, 17:26
i would say intercooler or cams maybe?

All the US evo's seem to run cams. 264/264 mainly on std turbos

My car is going in next to have a ball bearing conversion and a 10.5t housing fitted. Then mr cams to go in next, after that i think that will have to do. If i want to raise the boost to say 2.0 bar i wouls have to have forged internals

21-01-2006, 17:33
295atw 260

21-01-2006, 17:35
i think at 2bar the turbo will heat the air to much. The BB conversion might help that though

I agree that the next stages are very expensive compared to stage one so you need to know when to stop

21-01-2006, 17:48
i'm just hoping to solve the minor boost problem and then hopefully stop, hopefully :D

I ran on the ecutek for a while, it was not as smooth as the autronics, If you put it in a high gear say fifth at 2500rpm it felt lumpy and boost was on and back on where as with the autronics its perfect every time

running 360/360 on my 260 after spending 2K at WRC

over 10,000 miles later and still well impressed

I'm sure a replacement ecu is always better than a remap of the standard ecu but it's the cost factor i surpose.

A boost controller is another option for me to hold the boost better.

You were right :D

car feels great now. still keep hitting the limiter though

22-01-2006, 15:46
My excuse is that mine made pants figures from standard ;)

Pleased for ya tho mate :)

22-01-2006, 15:50
cheers mate.

It was running a little lean as standard so that would of helped power. I can't say the APS filter ever seem to help power apart from 1st gear where the extra air seemed to help the turbo spool

22-01-2006, 15:55
Mine was running rich apparently.

I am considering the APS induction now if i'm honest... i sooo thought i would do nothing else after this and already i'm looking at other bits

22-01-2006, 16:24
I'm not sure if it was the aps induction or the exhaust that made the difference but it would be worth getting. I'm sure it wouldn't take long on the RR to set your car back up.

23-01-2006, 14:47
You're right mate and it'd be nice to creep over the 340 mark like yourself :)

Lets see how long i can hold out!

23-01-2006, 16:55
with this colder weather it's like a caged animal waiting for you to press the throttle to release it.

24-01-2006, 14:28
Thats very true!

Until mine is fully up to a nice running temperature it sounds a little blowey too... exhaust that is. Just doesn't sound as silky smooth as it did before.

24-01-2006, 16:59
Since changing the downpipe mine sounds different at low revs. I got extreme to check it out and they said it was just because the downpipe is thiner.

Great service from extreme :D

25-01-2006, 13:39
Ah i see, what downpipe u got on there Oli?
