Talking Collected my VIII 260 last Friday

Just a quick post to thank people for their comments and thoughts when I was deciding whether or not to take my first plunge into Evo ownership (and whether or not French Blue was a good choice for colour!).

Anyway, picked it up last Friday and wow what can I say, I'm well pleased. French Blue (as you will see below if the pics work) with the upgraded leather/alcantara interior in blue and black. Going through the running in period, 0-200 miles upto 3500 rpm, 201-500 upto 4000 rpm and upto 4500 rpm 501-1000 miles.... I'm at the 4000 rpm stage at the moment and it just wants to go, so difficult to keep it down but I'm sticking to it.

Thanks again.

nice one

yep, take it easy for the first 1000 miles, up to the oil change.

After that put a decent exhaust on it (ie Blitz Millteck) crank the boost up to about 1.4bar and voila a FQ340

then go out and kick some ****!!

Looks very nice in that colour, first one i've seen. Interior looks spot on too, would get red in mine but lack of funds has left me with red outside and blue inside

Dont think he mean't that literally no. I'd say 340 bhp is harder to get than that.

Nice,
i get mine in Red next week, only thing i would like is the bigger spoiler, that center support in the small one is going to cause problems as the big fq boyo doesnt need it.
Any suggestions as to the easiest way to sort the problem out?

just going on past experiences.
I would say any 4G63 runing 1.4-1.5bar boost with the usual mods, ie de-cat exhaust AF etc is capable of producing 340bhp, nothing new there....

Great looking car, just needs the bigger spoiler as has been said earlier, but thats all down to personal taste

Cheers for the comments, I'm well chuffed with the car..... I forgot what it's like owning a car you are proud of in this weather though, needs washing far too often! Shares in Meguiars needed I think.

The middle post in the spoiler is a bit of a problem, I had wondered if it was just there for support but it is drilled and bolted, fitting a big replacement spoiler is gonna leave a hole, not ideal. Guess I'll live with the understated look.

Deal wise, well it wasn't the best I've ever put together. I had a two month old Civic Type R to part ex plus I just wanted the Evo and unfortunately I think my 'kid in a candy shop' smile gave my game away as soon as I walked into the dealership. Managed some discount off the car (or more part ex depending how you look at it) and managed to get the price down on the leather to grand or so.
