MPG of X SST

out of interest, what mpg are you getting out of your 10 sst's? Also what power is it running and what type of roads.

Not an issue, just curious, as I got the impression the X engine was more economical than earlier evos, but Ive found the opposite, the 5 at 400 would do about 20mpg, the X at 380 a couple less. For me thats all town/city and country roads driving, so not motorway. Surprised me also as I tend to drive the 10 less hard than I did the 5

That does seem a little on the low side. Mine is at 360 and I do town and pottering around driving and mines normally around 21mpg.

I did a 70 mile motorway journey over xmas cruising at 85mph and I did 24mpg which I was pretty happy with.

I've also done motorway cruising at 60mph and got it up to 32mpg.

thought it was low to be honest, I was expecting low 20's. Most of my driving im changing gear below 3 or 4k, and rarely floor it

Thinking its payback as my 5 generally got better mpg than people expect

I'll have to work it out exactly, but it is definitely below 20

*fires up mpg app*

So far I've averaged 18.13MPG across just over 1700 miles.
In comparison the ISF has managed 19.46MPG over 8100 miles.

My X has rods, turbo, clutch packs etc. At 476bhp it's putting out 57bhp more than my ISF and has 2 fewer gears so it's bound to be less economical.

My standard engined 2010 Ralliart SST 240bhp with the smaller turbo and milder cams than the Evo X only manages 20mpg around town, 23mpg on country lanes and 26-28mpg on the motorway. As it's my daily and also used for business I log all the mileage and litres for each fill up. The dash mpg is always much lower than the actual mpg. I drive it to the speed limits so take it very easy, only booting it late at night. I know it runs rich on this standard map, so I'm hoping to improve the mpg after a decent remap. It's the only disappointing thing with this car, I love it otherwise!

Forgot to mention, mine is mapped to run a tad richer especially in supersports with all the pops and bangs

Best I've managed is 23.34 to a tank, worst is 15.68. It's used daily which does seem a tad silly when I'm stuck in traffic during the commute.

I seem to get around 19-20mpg in my normal commute which is basically 30mph stop-start driving with little or no chance to give it the beans.

From discussing it with various people I understand that the default map on the 330 is very rich and hurls fuel into the engine on a whim. Therefore many people who've had it mapped with no mods have actually ended up with more power and improved fuel efficiency.

Display shows 18mpg which is pretty much correct now though

On my b-road daily commute to work i normally get 23-27mpg

I have had it up to 32.8mpg from Aberdeen to Inverness at 55mph! was quite impressed with that!

Mine is pretty much all A and B roads

As ive mentioned on a previous thread, this is the first car i've had with a 6th gear, but was surprised to see it was quite a low gear, similar revs at motorway in 6th as my 5 ran in 5th

It was confirmed when I looked at gear ratio specs on official publications, 6th sst ratio being similar (not the same) to 5th on the manual

Stu

i have been told the SST X is better on fuel than the Manual X

Not sure if this is true or not?

It all depends on how someone drives tbh

no idea about that. I do know that my driving style for the sst isnt helping. The exhaust is pretty much straight through, and the low down revs tone while accelerating is addictive, so as much as I keep the revs lower generally on the 10 than the previous evo, I suspect I tend to constantly get up to road speed with a heavier right foot than previously. Done originally for the sound and ending up a habbit

I'm seeing similar to what Kidd said. I'm happy if it's around 21-22 on a normal journey.

My commute is about 8 miles at mind numbing 20mph stop-start, which usually brings me home in the teens for MPG .

It's a supposedly stock 300, but it's got upgraded IC pipes and had 6 owners in 6 years so there's possibly been bits and bobs done to it that I've not yet found out about.
