Teesside FTD with Kenny1

Well I bogged the start a bit and I literally had to guess where the chicane was after nearly crashing on the previous run. We never got time to fit some spotlights but I just went for it on that last run and hoped for the best.

So here it is...hold on tight...it's a mental ride in the dark

Thanks to MLR video guru Jonny Jones for the footage from his mega camera.

SO dark, you did VERY well there Kenny! I'm going to have a hard job trying to make the track brighter for the final MLR promo video, but I like a challenge Congratulations again on getting the fastest lap time!

My eyes are crap in the dark. I started wearing glasses for reading 3 months ago...and for driving in the dark but didn't bother as they feel uncomfortable under my helmet. It was ok apart from the chicane. I asked Corky what his lights are like in that section and he said it's like looking into a fish tank. He could see everything.

If you watch that section again, you can see I just fluked it and smashed through the curbs. I didn't even see them till just before I hit them. I kept my foot down way too long. The suspension took it so well.

You weren't kidding about going over them were you

Yes, fair to say I had better visibility than you, only problem is that my lights were generally pointing at 90 degrees to where I wanted to be going

I go there in my kart and the straights last forever, they didn't last long there tho it looked very fast! Must be tricky in the dark too.

Taking the kurbs properly I see

I tried to get in an FTD when it wasn't so dark and the tyres were scalding hot earlier on but the time didn't register...I had to re-run but stalled it due to letting the clutch out too fast. I wasn't keen on slipping it again as it was feeling dodgey already so just let it out quick at 6.5k. Bang...and it stalled as the clutch gripped. I thought I had lost my chance and almost did until corky told me the next run was the last one. I was going to miss it to warm up my tyres in the tent. I will buy him a pint next time I see him.
