* * * Important Changes to Silverstone Sprint * * *

Since the MLR Sprint Series started in 2007 we have made a conscious decision not to scrutineer cars. For 2010 however scrutineering to confirm Class is under review, so for the forthcoming final round at Silverstone we'll be trialling these two important changes;

* requirement to show the cars original and valid MOT certificate at Registration
* scrutineering to ensure cars comply with the MLR Sprint Series regulations relevant to the class they have entered

We can't check turbo internals and strokered engines so the honesty of the competitors remains a crucial factor, but all cars will be checked for aftermarket turbos, AFCs and non standard ECU maps prior to the event starting. All ECUs must be communicable to be scrutineered and any car not scrutineered will not be able to run. If any cars fail to meet the Regs for the Class they’ve entered they will move to the correct class.

All cars will receive a "passed" sticker on their windscreen once successfully scrutineered, but please note that scrutineering is only to confirm Class and the MOT certificate will continue to represent confirmation that cars are fit to be driven for this event. If you are unable to show the car's original and valid MoT certificate it will not be able to run.

Parking
To help improve the smooth running of the event, parking will be in competitor number order. We will post the list of drivers / numbers a couple of days before the event and any late changes will be communicated via the Forum asap. Someone will also be present on arrival at Stowe to confirm your competitor / parking number

The Course
Although Silverstone won’t start work on extending Stowe until November and we’ve confirmed we expect to run the same course as the opening round in March, we are still looking at alternatives with the circuit. IF we can confirm a course which meets all the safety requirements, expect to see a revised circuit for the final round!

Entry Passes
ANYONE (drivers and spectators) will need to have a pass per car to gain free entry to the circuit on the day as Silverstone also have a race meeting on over the weekend. Please let me or Mechell know if you need a pass.

Great idea with the parking. Should run like clockwork.

Once we get past this year's final we'll be looking at EVERYTHING - including the points - and as usual inviting comments and suggestions (constructive ones!) from everyone to improve the MLRSS in 2010.

Sounds good Darin.
One question, how are you going to pull the Map off the X?
Open port 2 is hit and miss at the best of times.

I assume as a driver i'll be sent one automatically ?

with the scrutineering does that mean an extra early start im not good with early mornings

Second that will it be sent out? what with possible postal strikes and all that

Scrutineering I can't be lying as there is no class 5

And pre arranged parking will be good I hate it when someone pinches your space when you've set your gear out

If spectators need passes, how are they obtained?

And how many are allowed??

I have a crowd of about 300, who want to have a laugh, I mean look at me at the sprint!!!
