Exclamation Evo X launch event - calling all members

The MLR, in conjuction with Browns Mitsubishi, are proud to announce ...

THE EVO X LAUNCH EVENT

The date - Sunday 16th March 2008

The time - 11.00am to 4.30pm(ish)

The place - Browns Mitsubishi, Preston

This launch event has been arranged with Browns especially for MLR members and forum users and will make us some of the first people in the country to get our hands on an Evo X. It should be the biggest and best Evo X launch event in the UK and has the full support of Mitsubishi UK (CCC).

Browns have arranged to have a showroom full of new Evo Xs for us to poke, prod, sit in and crawl under including an Evo X 360 GSR manual plus a car available for test drives. There will also be a British Championship Mitsubishi Motors Evo 9 rally car on display.

In addition, British Rally Champion Guy Wilkes will be in attendance to chat about all things Evo and rally related and sign posters.

The MLR and Mitsubishi have put up a number of evo merchandise prizes for a raffle, the proceeds of which will be donated to the Richard Burns Foundation. The top prize is two VIP tickets to a British Championship Rally this year
with full hospitality including service area access - a "money cant buy" prize! In addition, Darin has very generously donated the following excellent raffle prizes -

1 x MLR Floor Mats
1 x MLR Fleece
1 x MLR Sweatshirt
1 x MLR Polo Shirt
1 x Lancer Evo Story DVD
1 x Lancer Evo Book
1 x MLR Membership
3 x MLR Tax Disc Holder, Key Ring and Decals

Browns have donated a 3-in-1 Mitsubishi jacket plus t-shirts and baseball caps.

Food and drink will be laid on including a full 'Hog Roast' and barbeque around lunch time.

There will also be a display illustrating the 'Evolution of the Evolution' with cars from I to IX all belonging to MLR members.

Browns Mitsubishi is located just off the M6 to the east of Preston with excellent transport links. A five minute drive away is the Preston East Travel Inn with a decent Beefeater restaurant attached if anyone needs to stay over. The Lake District and Yorkshire Dales are a short drive away for anyone thinking of making a weekend of it.

This event is not just for members from the North-West but is open to Evo enthusiasts from all over the UK (or the World if Jon fancies a trip over from Malta ). Browns have gone to a lot of trouble to arrange this event for us and to make it as entertaining and interesting as possible so please reward their hard work (and mine!) by making this event well attended.

Cars for the MLR Display - please arrive by 10.30am, you'll be parked in sequence from I to IX down the left hand side of Browns' forecourt as you enter.

Lancer Turbo - PaulS
Evo I - phil66475 (reserve Lee?)
Evo II - TheTyrant (maybe) (reserve Evo1man's friend with the IIRS)
Evo III - AndyF_RSX (reserve Evo1man)
Evo IV - Heather and Stephen (reserve GpAEvo)
Evo V - Miss Mitsy (reserve - TDS3)
Evo VI - James-evo6-rs (reserve Ste1988-GSR)
Evo VII - nippy hippy (reserve Dave S)
Evo VIII - Carina (reserve Corky)
Evo IX - Mick429 (reserve - Ringrey)

Plus hopefully RC Developments' blue beastie (fingers crossed)

This is just the list for the Evo I to IX display - there's plenty of space for everyone else to bring their Evos and park them on the forecourt too!

No worries

When is the display going to be set up? That morning? Night before?

Not a question that needs to be answered today I know

The Sunday morning - the forecourt isn't secure so I wouldn't encourage people to leave their cars on it overnight. Plus I've no idea where Browns are moving all the Shoguns, Colts etc. to so they might not be able to move them until the morning as Saturday will be a normal trading day for them.

OK ... no worries Carina

I'm guessing there will be a bucket to wash the cars with when we get there
