@@@@@@@ The Official 2006 MLR Christmas Party @@@@@@@

You got it, its that time of year again; the time to announce ........

The Official 2006 MLR Christmas Party!

The date is Saturday 2nd December!

The same as last year i've been scurrying around trying to find another fantastic venue for the MLR to host its Annual Christmas Party at, and once again, just like last year we have decided to hold it in Manchester. For those that are not familiar with the reason why we chose Manchester again, in short : We wanted a central location, to allow easier access to not only the Scottish Members, but also our International Members too. With Manchester not only having its own international airport, but also easy access from the M6/M5 corridor its location is ideal for our members needs, from North to South, East to West.

The hotel we have decided on is part of the Britannia Group and i am sure that with the experience they have that we will be more than well looked after

Heres the direct link to the hotel's own website, and also a link to Multimap's Website showing the location.

This year we have decided to go back to the original format, and have a 'normal' bar, rather than the free bar. Of course this is reflected in the price, and as such the deal goes like this :

3 course meal, including half bottle of red or white wine per person, for only £24.95! This naturally includes entrance to the Private (MLR Members Only) function room, and the after party, which will run until 1am - during all this time the bar will be open to party goers (well it would be rude to close any earlier ). After the MLR Christmas Party ends, residents of the hotel will be allowed to relax and wind down in the Residents Bar until 4am; i'm sure you will agree this give's us all enough time to down a few more festive drinks before retiring for the evening!

Room cost, we are sure you'll be more than happy to hear, we have kept to a minimum too, and i'm positive that you will agree with a Double or Twin room, including full English breakfast only costing £70 for the night to be fantastic value for money! Single rooms are available too, at £45 for the night. (Both are available room only, prices @ £60 and £40 respectively).

For those members wanting alittle more luxury you can always upgrade to a slightly better room - please contact the hotel direct for price details.

Also available in the standard room, you have :

- Room Service
- Direct Telephone
- Cable - Satellite TV

The hotel itself feature's great recreational facilities should you need them, including :

- Internet Access
- 24 hour Reception
- Elevator/Lift
- Dining Room
- Dry Cleaning
- Children's Facilities

As well as :

The Residents Bar
Relaxed atmosphere to enjoy a quiet drink with family and friends

Spindles Health & Leisure Club
The Fitness Centre in the Britannia Country House. Take time to relax in the heated indoor swimming pool, sauna, steam room or jacuzzi.
A hair and beauty salon is also available for those who wish to pamper themselves.

Jenny's Carvery Restaurant
Traditional English food. Very good value for money.

The Overstuffed Pizzeria Restaurant
Pizzeria. Italian atmosphere - Offers a variety of light meals and snacks. Open daily until 2.00am.

We have also arranged for part of the car park to be partitioned off for MLR cars only, and although the hotel has promised to step up security, i will be in further talks to see what else i can arrange for the peace of mind of all attending - i will keep you informed!

So onto the painful bit - the booking and paying for it all!

Tickets for the party itself are available in the MLR shop, just follow this link : http://www.lancerregister.com/store_category.php?id=13

To book a room please ring the hotel direct on 0161 434 3411 between 9am and 5 pm and quote booking reference '6918 - MLR'. The hotel will then take you credit card details and will reserve a room for you. You can pay either when you reserve the room, or when you arrive on the 2nd December, its your call. We have made provision for 60 rooms to be allocated for MLR members, and these will be held until 6 weeks before the party night, approx. mid October so you have been warned, book early to avoid disappointment!

If you wish to bring some non MLR friends then thats fine, all you need is for one of you to be a member so you can order the tickets, theres no limit on how many either! And they dont even have to own an Evo!

I guess that just about covers everything, if anything else comes to light them i will update as necessary and add a note in this thread as i do so, that way non of you miss out on important information. I hope you can make it, the last two Christmas Party's have been great; and i'm sure this one will be the same!

One things for sure, it just wont be the same without YOU!

Rich

Be very careful Mr. Gammon... there are plenty of incriminating photos lying around in dark places that haven't seen the light yet

Andy

P.S. I'll go as long as I'm not sat next to that Raeturbo bloke... couldn't understand a word he was saying to me last year
