Boost issue

Hi
My car is an Evo 5 running a 80 series turbo and receirc valve.
The car runs great and normally off boost when I change gear there used to be a flutter sound which is fine but after my latest track day I now notice this sound has gone and there seems to be a bigger flutter noise when building boost in 4th and 5th.
Now when I change gear it just sounds like it's venting to atmosphere
I'm thinking boost leak or dodgy valve
Car will be going to MG to get checked

Thine logic has merit ...id be starting with that bov , try reversing it /removing and blocking off pipe with a bung ...then see if no more whooshing ...you will get alot more flutter noise though lol
