Evo 6 GSR - white

The time has come to put my Evo 6 GSR up for sale, I'm now in a position to buy my first house and unfortunately I can't justify keeping the Evo. It's been a joy to own and certainly hasn't disappointed.

I purchased the car through a Japanese auction as a grade 4C and the car arrived in the UK in December 2015. As I imported the car myself I began the process of registering and getting it road legal. The car passed its MOT first time in January 2016.

I then had a full service completed including belts and water pump. After this I had the first chance to drive the car and it showed it had the common mis-fire on boost problem, so the car had new plugs (gapped to the right distance) and a new Turbosmart waste gate actuator which solved the problem and has the car running beautifully.

The aim was always to have a clean, reliable, useable and original Evo as the un-modified ones seem to be getting rarer and rarer.

Further details of spec and any work carried out as below:

Engine

Completely standard other than:

Apexi Power Induction Kit

Fujitsubo exhaust – unsure on the model but it's very quiet on idle and sounds great on boost

Always run on V-Power

Suspension & Brakes

Standard Brembo brake set up. The calipers were refurbed in March 2016 and still look great with no sign of wear.

Standard suspension set-up

Wheels & Tyres

Standard 17" OZ alloy wheels painted white. I was planning on a refurb at some point in Scotia white but will leave them for now and then the new owner can get it done if they would like a colour change.

4x Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 3 tyres fitted less than 500 miles ago (Hunter tracking completed at the same time)

Interior

GReddy twin pod pillar gauges / temperature and oil pressure

Standard Recaro GSR interior with no wear at all (see pics)

HKS turbo timer

Kenwood double din Minidisc & CD player. This is what came in the car from Japan and works perfectly fine.

There is also a speed camera detector that came in the car, I haven't used it at all but it does seem to turn on.

It also has a small slot which look like it would take a small card. I'm lead to believe this for the tolls in Japan and when the ignition is turned on there is a Japanese voice which I think is a reminder to put your card in. This has stayed as well as I feel it adds to the history and interest of the car.

Exterior

The car was treated to a full underseal by one of the most reputable places in the UK- http://www.underbodyprotection.co.uk/ . I had seen some examples of their work and their general ethos so knew this would be a good place to get this done. It had a full steam clean and then was worked over with a wire brush before being treated with Dinitrol. Underside pics below (I have more in RAW format of the process I just need to convert them somehow).

The rear spoiler has also been removed and had several components replaced before being refitted as the rubber seals had perished. This is now arguably better than new.

NACA duct painted as this had gone off a bit.

New boot badge and sticker.

Security

Toad A1606 CAT1 alarm fitted

Hopefully this helps give a bit of an idea of the type of car this is and the work that has been done up to this point. I've thoroughly enjoyed owing this car, it always gets positive comments wherever I go and it even won the 'Best Evo 4-6' trophy on the MLR stand @ Japday 2016 (Castle Combe).

It's a great useable and reliable example of this car with the original owner's manual and service book from Japan. The mileage is currently on 128,500 km so just under 80,000 miles. The clocks haven't been changed to miles so this isn't a mixture, this also means the Japanese speed limiter is still in place (112mph).

The number plate will also be sold with the car as it just suits it so well. It would have been on a 'T' reg anyway, it's a '99 car and it's a GSR.

I'm sure I've missed bits here and there so if you have any questions please drop me a message.

The car is located in East Sussex. My email address is andyadair@live.com. Telephone number is 07557 539 895.

The price is £12,500.

Seen this car at Combe on MLR stand and other shows. Very nice. Shame you have to sell because will be hard to replace with another VI when the time comes (and it will) once you are settled into home ownership
