Yep, just had my RA remapped using ECUFLASH by CPR in warrington. Very happy with the gains over stock.

That's a massive increase! Do you have any other mods?

Only mods are the EVO X IC and a 3 port boost controller. The engine, turbo, exhaust and induction system are all standard. The EVO X IC is a straight swap for the standard RA one, there is the same room behind the bumper as there is in an EVO X so no reason why it should not fit easily. Also, if I go for a EVO X turbo swap later then the car is ready from this respect.

As you can see from the pics the RA IC is half the size of the EVO X. I did it to make sure the remap was as safe as possible rather than getting more power. Reading the reports from the American forums there have been issues with higher than ideal inlet temp with the standard IC. If you look at the diesel Lancer it appears to have thesame IC and therefore the standard one is just not up to the job.

The 3 port boost controller gives more accurate boost control and was done again to make sure the remap was safe.

My advise is to find yourself a reputable local tuner with a rolling road and do the same, the difference in the performance of the car is huge.

I have a standard X interboiler, top pipe and cams if you're up for a project!

Standard EVO X is fine and fits without any serious mods. I paid about £150 with all the pipes second hand from another owner on MLR. I would not bother with after market as it is unlikely that you will ever mod beyond the rating of the EVO X IC due to the limits of the SST even if you also did a EVO X turbo swap.
Ultimate RA spec for me is EVO X turbo swap and IC with custom remap to FQ330 power and torque? This should avoid any SST issues but this can also be remapped to take a bit more torque.
The unanswered question in my mind at the moment is how far to go with exhaust mods. Options are quite varied;
3" cat back
3" turbo back with sports cat
sports cat and 3" centre pipe with standard rear box
???

Hi Xorro
Just a suggestion but could you edit the thread to add the user name of all RA owners who post on this thread at your first post on the thread. That way we can all easily see who has replied without having to read through the whole thread. So the list would look something like;
Xorro
andy h
steviejames
stundies
Paulathome
Evomentalist
Rallyday
Davy_gsr
SpikeMY09GSR

Did I miss anyone?
Maybe we could organise a meet at some point in the future once we have a few more owners on the list, there are another 3 on the register that I can see.

I agree so next upgrade is going to be the STOPTECH front 355mm BBK once it arrives from the good old USofA.

This is why I have changed my wheels, to get the required caliper clearance.

I'm still having starting issues with mine, it turns over but doesn't fire. It's been OK for a few weeks then did it again last night.

I'm wondering whether its the crank position sensor.

Mine does it as well, only every now and again and always starts eventually. On the American forums there was lots of talk about the fuel pump relay and loads of people got them swapped by the dealer?

Ooh, interesting, thanks for that. I've not been on the American sites for a while.
