Mitsubiishi evo 5 2.3 stroker APT built 502Bhp

Owned since may last year, It was brought with the intension of being used as intended. I have owned quite a few evos along with other performance cars over the years, I have always been extremely fussy with bodywork and looked for a car that was faultless. With this one I decided I had enough of attempting to keep an immaculate car and wanted something I could use and enjoy. It has always been kept clean and polished and comes up really well

The story until now and reason for sale:
I purchased the car already being a 2.3 and running the original evo 5 turbo re worked, ball bearing cored and billet wheeled. It went like a scolded cat and I could not believe how instant the power was on a test drive, safe to say I handed the money over in a flash and drove it home!

After a few weeks with a power band like a diesel, as fun as it was to drive, it didnít tick all the boxes. I have always had the urge for a turbo technics s205/s214b so ordered one, along with all the necessary supporting bits. Got it all fitted and mapped and it was perfect! done a track day and a few miles on the road until.... bang, a hole in a valve and 4 melted pistons!
I was gutted to say the least but wanted to keep the car and wanted it to be as reliable as it could, so of to Gary at APT it went. It was stripped down, we decided to stick with the 2.3 stroker (lets face it, after feeling how well they drive, why would you want to give it up) and Gary got to work. A few changes from the original spec but it is built for a reliable 500bhp+ without having to worry about anything going wrong!

Since picking it up from APT, the engine has covered 845miles to date. I have cleaned it today and it will be kept in storage until it is sold, the only additional mileage will be from test drives. The main reason for advertising it is just before dropping it over to APT we had finally found a house that fitted our search, a knackered old cottage with plenty of land! What started off as a basic modernisation with the intension of selling it straight on, has turned into wanting to stay. Full renovation and large extension later, the expenses keep on coming and I do not want to be cutting corners with it. The Evo is one of 4 vehicles that I own and unfortunately it is the least used and letís be honest, a luxury rather than a necessity.

The important bits:

- Engine rebuilt December 2016 by Gary at APT .
.- 2.3 stroker Oliver rods, Weisco pistons, OEM 4G64 crankshaft.
- head completely rebuilt with new valves, guides and seats.
- Uprated valve springs and retainers.
- Bc 272 cams
- New main bearings, big ends, water pump, tensioners, cambelt etc. etc.
- Power fc with hand controller

I am sure Gary would be happy to answer any questions you may have about the build.

General spec:

- 3 point strut braces front and back.
- Reconditioned gearbox. * I will dig the receipts out to confirm when this was fitted.
- Transfer box replaced from low mileage car.
- Apexi AVCR
- Apexi power fc
- Tein Coilovers
- Exedy twin plate clutch, recondition December 2016
.- Zaklee Clear cam cover
- Hks cam pulleys.
- 3mm lash adjusters
- evo 10 wheels, still as new.
-AMS series 1 intercooler and pipe work.

All brand new July 2016:
- Neverman Battery relocation kit.
- Fuel pump hard wire kit.
- Speed density conversion.
- 3" K&N Filter - Stainless ND filter relocation to behind headlight.
- stainless ND top hard pipe.
- new Carbotec XP10 front pads.
- new ross sport discs
- Callipers refurbed
- set of 4 235/40/18 AD08R tyres. These have seen 1 track day
- Ported inlet manifold.
- Full Russ fellows "track friendly" 3" cat back exhaust
.- Id1000cc injectors Including plug and play kit
.- Aero motive 340 fuel pump
- TT s214b Full turbo kit

Just a rough list but I have got receipts for pretty much all of it apart from bits I brought of the forum etc.

Things to mention:

- It has previously been welded, 1 small patch on the rear chassis leg and a patch on the rear diff mounting point. The underseal looks to have not been done for a couple of years and it has not been done in my ownership. It all looks to be solid and there is nothing to hide with the cars condition! any inspection is welcome and I will provide additional pictures were I can.
- Small mark to rear quarter - Pictured.
- Small mark to front bumper - Pictured
- The rocker cover has seen better days, I brought another and had it refurbed with the intensions of fitting it whilst the engine was being built. Understandably Gary was not happy to fit it as the baffles had not been removed to check for any possible debris, it will be included with the car if you wish to fit it.
- Rear arch spats, the top of them are solid with minor surface spots, the lower halves on both sides are crusty but firm. I have given them a good poke about and they havenít moved anywhere.

To summarise, a genuine Evo 5 with a fresh rebuild from one of the best in the business. It has got all of the right bits and is ready to jump in and use. Yes, it has had a bit of welding but having looked at plenty of these cars over the years I can safely say it is in better condition than most that I have seen. Despite what the owners will tell you!

Do not waste my time and I wonít waste yours, any viewing is welcomed and I can arrange fully insured delivery for £1.30 per mile one way.

For genuine enquires call me, 07944214956 Ė BEN.

£12,000 Part exchange considered but with a value of no more than £5,000.

To answer a couple of questions that I haven't answered/made very clear.

The engine has not been used on the track day, it has only seen road miles.

The shell is sitting around 97k, no proof of weather it's part kms so assume it's all miles.

4 previous owners, the same bloke has owned it twice. Sold it then brought it back 3 years later.

Imported 01/07/2007.

Mot runs out 14th of June, I'll have this renewed or knock of the cost of doing it, which ever is preferred.

I have the service booklets for it but there the Japanese originals, no stamps or writing in them that I can see.

I have plenty of receipts from parts and servicing but no stamps in a book.

Cheers

Couldn't resist so used it all
Day Sunday, faultless and grinning from ear to ear as always.

Plenty of phone calls, no one has viewed it yet though.

Clean shell, engine built by the best in the business and all the right bits to use it without worrying... what more do you need ?
