First time logging on evo 5 stock map as far as we know, aem uego installed and logging through ecu pin 75 we are still trying to get the log to match gauge but on boost looking at gauge afr is fine. Getting knock on all 3 pulls from 5k and 5 "1" counts. Im confused if that means 5 counts of knock or 1 count.
That's nothing to really worry about. Knock has a delay timer. So when the ECU thinks it's got some knock it takes a bit of time for the knock to go back to zero.
What you're getting is 1 count of knock. That's not much. You should get worried when you see 3 counts of knock especially if it's consistent. Since you say that you're seeing the single count of knock everytime, it wouldn't hurt to pull one degree of timing and see if it goes away.
IIRC, 3 counts of knock = 1 degree of timing pulled.
Ok nice one buddy. Yeh gonna try pulling timing abit, im trying to learn as much as i can on my stock rom before i go for tge ceddy rom which i know runs leaner and more timing than my map
Am I right in saying that the logged knock count isn't actually a counter, its actually the ECU's calculation of the angle before TDC that knock is occurring?
It is a measure of the severity of the knock. The more potentially damaging the knock is, the higher the knock count will be. I think it's closely related to the loudness of the knock signal.
