* * * 30–130 & Top Speed Day Saturday 3rd November 2007 * * *

We are very pleased to announce the second MLR 30-130 event of 2007 which will be held on Saturday 3rd November 2007 at RAF Marham, Norfolk

Main details of the event include:

* Full 1.5mile runway
* No noise limits!
* VBox data recorded for all cars
* Cars will be weighed
* Limited to 45 cars only
* £90 per car
* Starts at 9am and finishes at 4pm

RAF Marham is a live Tornado air base so we’re very fortunate to be able to use the venue for this event. We’ll be using the full length of the 1.5 mile runway of super smooth tarmac which is also 60m wide, the day will be fully marshaled and include paramedic cover to ensure the event runs safely. A burger van will also be onsite in the ’30-130 paddock’ to make sure no one goes hungry!

All cars will be fitted with a Racelogic V-Box to record the cars performance; 30-130 and top speed. Cars will run one at a time and will have to start in a designated area. Having completed a “30-130 run” all drivers will be able to go on to complete a top speed run if they want. It’s not compulsory but you may not have a better, safer and legal way to find out your car’s straight line performance.
The next car will be released when car No.1 has passed the halfway mark on the runway.
Front seat passengers will be allowed and helmets must be worn by all occupants when on the runway.
Once the car has returned to the Paddock and the VBox removed, it can be driven onto the scales to be weighed.

VERY IMPORTANT – PLEASE READ :
Security at RAF Marham has the highest priority, and as a live airbase obtaining security clearance for everyone is an additional job for the RAF staff, so I need to make this as painless as possible!
EVERYONE (Drivers, Spectators and Reserves) NEEDS TO BE SECURITY CLEARED BEFORE BEFORE BEING ALLOWED ON SITE, SO I MUST HAVE YOUR DETAILS BY THE END OF SEPTEMBER to enable clearance by 15 October 2007.
Note: All those who took part in 30-130 in February or the RAF Marham trackdays will NOT need to be vetted again.

Please PM me with the following details asap for vetting purposes and I will forward to RAF Marham immediately:
* Full Name
* Address
* Place of Birth
* Date of Birth
* Passport number (not essential but this will greatly speed up the process)
* Car make, model and registration being driven into RAF Marham (not required for the car on a trailer)

Please be assured that all details will be held in the strictest of confidence.

Bookings:
Places can be booked online from Friday 10th August via the MLR Shop, or by calling myself or Mechell direct on 0845 12 LANCER (526237).
Price is £90 per car and the event is only open to MLR members.
The list of cars/drivers booked in will be shown in a seperate thread.

Reserves and Cancellations:
If places sell out a reserve list will be started. All reserves should PM me their details for security vetting as above. If anyone cannot attend for any reason please let me know and DO NOT post on the Forum offering your place to someone else - as I need to manage the entry list for security purposes.
Please be aware of the MLR's Event Cancellation Policy .

Spectators & Volunteers:
We are allowed a maximum of 50 cars onsite during the day, so any spectators must come with drivers already booked in – don’t forget you need to be security cleared too!
However, we need a handful of people to help with putting the V-Boxes in the cars and changing over memory cards throughout the day, so please contact me if you would be interested in helping the MLR and we will arrange for people to car share.

A big thanks to Keith and his team at RAF Marham who continue to make this event possible.

Really looking forward to this again guys, thoroughly enjoyed hosting the last event and this will be my last as I'm posted in November (So rides will be even more welcome )

Don't worry though because I have a replacement for the job so these events won't go away anytime soon.

Cheers to Darin and Mechell and I look forward to seeing you all in November.

I really enjoyed the last one (except for the 180mph seagull issue )

Am down at Oulton Park on the Friday, so will make a weekend of it

since it's an RAF base will they have any anti-seagull point defense systems online ?

shame it's not a navy base or they could have some phalanx's knocking about

p.s. ooh they do a land based version too so we may be in luck
