MLR Support for Mitsubishi Motors Tsunami Disaster Appeal

Yesterday Mitsubishi Motors UK launched a fund-raising campaign for UK head office staff and its dealer network to support the Red Cross Appeal and Save the Children, and I felt this would be a great opportunity for the MLR and our members to make donations and show we're thinking about the Japanese people and the atrocity they've just suffered.

Save the Children Fund Raising Link

From Mitsubishi Motors....
Mitsubishi Motors urges as many people as possible to donate to one of these charities to help respond to this massive humanitarian disaster. A live link to the Red Cross and Save the Children can be found on the Mitsubishi Motors UK consumer website at www.mitsubishi-cars.co.uk and the Mitsubishi Motors media site at www.mitsubishipress.co.uk.

The Japanese Red Cross has been working on the ground since the disaster began, mobilising 86 teams, made up of around 600 doctors, nurses and support staff, to provide first aid and healthcare and assess the damage and needs of the communities affected.

Up to 100,000 children have been displaced because of the earthquake and tsunami. Save the Children has launched a £1 million appeal to help families affected by the devastating Japanese earthquake and tsunami and have a team in Japan who are responding to the needs of children.

From our side...

I wanted to send a few emails from 'the MLR' to our friends within Mitsubishi Motors / ex-Ralliart management in Tokyo to say we're thinking about them, and I thought you might like to see a few replies;

Dear Mr.Frow

Thank you very much for your E-mail. Myself, my family and our friends are no trouble, however we experienced the unbelievable serious earthquake (magunitude 9 and resisterd 7 in Tohoku area). Tsunami and fire were destroyed Tohoku area as you can see on TV and additionaly troubles in atomic power plant was happened.

The earthquake resisterd 5 plus (on the Japanese scale) in Tokyo, and this continued for 5 minutes. Aftershock is still happen every day.

We will recover soon.
Your heartfelt messages are highly appreciated.
Thank you again.

Best Regards
Yukimichi Kitane

That's great Darin

They could teach the rest of the world a lesson in politeness.

The last reply left me gob smacked, after every thing they have been through still an apology for a late reply and bad English.

Well Done Darin. Things over there seem to be getting worse every time you switch on the TV News. I hope our well wishes give them some comfort.
