a quick diagnostics test with a diagnostic toll will tell you if its the crank or cam sensor as when you crank it on live reading you will see an rpm reading if their working none if not.

i am pretty sure that all variants of 7/8/9 are clamp type but cant be 100% sure. its easy to tell take the air bag off if their is a nut in the center then its not a clamp type :smthumbup
