Unbelievable but true - the MLR's last trackday of 2006, on Saturday 25th November is almost here, and it's at one of the best tracks in the UK; Oulton Park's 2.8mile International circuit .

The day features:
* open pit lane format
* drivers briefing and sighting laps
* free professional tuition from our team of ARDS instructors (Helen, Graeme and Colin)
* full tyre services from Protyre
* garages available - first come first served!
* trackside photography from Picman
* noise limit is an Evo friendly 105db
* full info pack via email

Novices:
MLR members new to trackdays will benefit from extended novice driver's breifing and sighting lap session, scheduled one-to-one instruction sessions and feedback card so you can monitor your progress throughout the day.

Bookings:
Prices are below and can be booked via the MLR Shop or by calling the MLR - 0845 12 LANCER (526237) - and booking direct with either myself or Mechell;

* MLR member Novices £99
* MLR members £149
* Non members £159

Additional drivers and passengers can all be booked on the day for £35 and £10ea respectively, but all will need to wear a helmet and have their arms and legs covered.
Spectators are welcome throughout the day and can enter the circuit for free.

If you have any other questions please PM me, or send and email to darin@lancerregister.com. I'll post a list of runners nearer the time. ;)

Hmmm - I hope history will not repeat itself - this time last year I was looking for a VI RS and got one at the beginning of November.

3 weeks later I wrote it off at this MLR trackday. :cry:

What am I doing at this present time ?........ Looking for a VI RS, which I hope to have before this trackday !!! :eek:

so which should i book do i get any less track time with the novice :)
You won't get any less track time as a novice, just some extra briefing and an X on your car, to let everyone know on the track that your a novice. Plus there are free instuctors to help you if you want. They are good and worth using.

Speak to organisers to see if you qualify as a novice. ;)

well its my first time with the MLR so ill go as a novice :)
Dont worry, I was/we were novice by the fact that we had never done a track day before, everyone is very helpful, loads of fun, loads of tuition for novices and the rest too, it is an all round good day out, and don't feel pressured coz you think yourself a novice, once your out there a, you will soon pick it up and b, those that are faster will overtake anyway....

do it....

This is my third now... I have the bug!!!!

Dam expensive though!!! man the money I have thrown at me car since starting these things..... :coolsm:

Nope.

You can do it on your road tyres, but they will take a bit hammering - best bet is to have a spere set of wheels with a more dedicated track tyre. Stay on the raod tyres if it's wet / damp.

Discs & pads will take a bit stick but certainly won't need changing just because of doing a trackday - unless they're down to low levels to begin with - and in that case you shouldn't be using them on track !

Not that expensive really then, just your track ticket and some fuel. Might give it ago, cheers geoff.

I can thoroughly recommend a MLR Track Day. We have done 3 this year plus the Spa/Ring trip in August - all awesome.

Due to a house move in November it isn't looking good for an Oulton attendance which is a shame as I really fancy that track....next year perhaps.

If you are a way from a service I would recommend getting it a once over at your local specialist for brake pads/discs and oils. You can do tyres, air filter and oil/water levels yourself.

Have fun!!

Cheers, LD :coolsm:
