Owned since may last year, It was brought with the intension of being used as intended. I have owned quite a few evos along with other performance cars over the years, I have always been extremely fussy with bodywork and looked for a car that was faultless. With this one I decided I had enough of attempting to keep an immaculate car and wanted something I could use and enjoy. It has always been kept clean and polished and comes up really well
The story until now and reason for sale:
I purchased the car already being a 2.3 and running the original evo 5 turbo re worked, ball bearing cored and billet wheeled. It went like a scolded cat and I could not believe how instant the power was on a test drive, safe to say I handed the money over in a flash and drove it home!
After a few weeks with a power band like a diesel, as fun as it was to drive, it didn't tick all the boxes. I have always had the urge for a turbo technics s205/s214b so ordered one, along with all the necessary supporting bits. Got it all fitted and mapped and it was perfect! done a track day and a few miles on the road until.... bang, a hole in a valve and 4 melted pistons!
I was gutted to say the least but wanted to keep the car and wanted it to be as reliable as it could, so of to Gary at APT it went. It was stripped down, we decided to stick with the 2.3 stroker (lets face it, after feeling how well they drive, why would you want to give it up) and Gary got to work. A few changes from the original spec but it is built for a reliable 500bhp+ without having to worry about anything going wrong!
Since picking it up from APT, the engine has covered 845miles to date. I have cleaned it today and it will be kept in storage until it is sold, the only additional mileage will be from test drives. The main reason for advertising it is just before dropping it over to APT we had finally found a house that fitted our search, a knackered old cottage with plenty of land! What started off as a basic modernisation with the intension of selling it straight on, has turned into wanting to stay. Full renovation and large extension later, the expenses keep on coming and I do not want to be cutting corners with it. The Evo is one of 4 vehicles that I own and unfortunately it is the least used and let's be honest, a luxury rather than a necessity.

Just a rough list but I have got receipts for pretty much all of it apart from bits I brought of the forum etc.
Things to mention:
- It has previously been welded, 1 small patch on the rear chassis leg and a patch on the rear diff mounting point. The underseal looks to have not been done for a couple of years and it has not been done in my ownership. It all looks to be solid and there is nothing to hide with the cars condition! any inspection is welcome and I will provide additional pictures were I can.
- Small mark to rear quarter - Pictured.
- Small mark to front bumper - Pictured
- The rocker cover has seen better days, I brought another and had it refurbed with the intensions of fitting it whilst the engine was being built. Understandably Gary was not happy to fit it as the baffles had not been removed to check for any possible debris, it will be included with the car if you wish to fit it.
- Rear arch spats, the top of them are solid with minor surface spots, the lower halves on both sides are crusty but firm. I have given them a good poke about and they haven't moved anywhere.
To summarise, a genuine Evo 5 with a fresh rebuild from one of the best in the business. It has got all of the right bits and is ready to jump in and use. Yes, it has had a bit of welding but having looked at plenty of these cars over the years I can safely say it is in better condition than most that I have seen. Despite what the owners will tell you!
Do not waste my time and I won't waste yours, any viewing is welcomed and I can arrange fully insured delivery for £1.30 per mile one way.

£12,000 Part exchange considered but with a value of no more than £5,000.
