Just wondering how many Lancer Ralliart Sportback owners there are on here? MLR is primarily populated by Evos so would be nice to talk to other LR owners :)

So far I think there are 3 including myself.

I keep wondering about the chrome trim. On the dark colours it looks OK but I do wonder if black would look better on a white Sportback. I read some where that it takes six screws to remove the front panel but a further 54 screws to get the grill off. If that is right, I might just invest in some matt black vinyl to cover the chrome. At least then if I change my mind or the next owner wants chrome it is easy to ge back to the original state. As for the red badge, that smacks a bit of Honda Type R!
I wonder if they coloured the badging at the rear of the car?

Only mods are the EVO X IC and a 3 port boost controller. The engine, turbo, exhaust and induction system are all standard. The EVO X IC is a straight swap for the standard RA one, there is the same room behind the bumper as there is in an EVO X so no reason why it should not fit easily. Also, if I go for a EVO X turbo swap later then the car is ready from this respect. :D

As you can see from the pics the RA IC is half the size of the EVO X. I did it to make sure the remap was as safe as possible rather than getting more power. Reading the reports from the American forums there have been issues with higher than ideal inlet temp with the standard IC. If you look at the diesel Lancer it appears to have thesame IC and therefore the standard one is just not up to the job.

The 3 port boost controller gives more accurate boost control and was done again to make sure the remap was safe.

My advise is to find yourself a reputable local tuner with a rolling road and do the same, the difference in the performance of the car is huge. :mhihi:

Hi Xorro
Just a suggestion but could you edit the thread to add the user name of all RA owners who post on this thread at your first post on the thread. That way we can all easily see who has replied without having to read through the whole thread. So the list would look something like;
Xorro
andy h
steviejames
stundies
Paulathome
Evomentalist
Rallyday
Davy_gsr
SpikeMY09GSR

Did I miss anyone?
Maybe we could organise a meet at some point in the future once we have a few more owners on the list, there are another 3 on the register that I can see.

I'm still having starting issues with mine, it turns over but doesn't fire. It's been OK for a few weeks then did it again last night.

I'm wondering whether its the crank position sensor.

Hi we have had our Ralliart since October last year. From the moment I drove it on the test drive I fell in love with it! We first saw one at a dealer in Devon when we were on holiday in mid-oct and I quite liked the look of it - loved it from the front not too sure about the back! We were looking to swap my Focus ST (which I also loved too!). With my job (I'm a church minister) and a nearly 3 year old son (so access to a car seat in the back required) I need to have a 5 door car and as it is our only car (the other half has a work van) we needed something that could be used daily. We thought about an Evo but the dealer showed us the RA which he thought would be more usable for what we needed.
We test drove one back up at home (in Leicestershire) and bought it on the spot - a miracle for me cause I normally need a while to make a decision on a car. Also helped that it was the last day of the month and think the dealer needed one more sale to get his target - as he threw in all sorts of goodies and gave a fantastic part-ex for my ST!!
I too have noticed how many adoring looks it gets and also the confusion in causes - looks sort of like an Evo from the front but people can't work out what's different about it!
'Fraid I can't give you any info on anything techie (that's the other halfs domain!) all I know is that I use it almost day have put 4,200 miles on the clock and it still makes me smile as much to drive as it did on day 1!!!

You can add us to the list - ours is 60 plate and black
We'd certainly be up for a meet.... work and child allowing!!

I have bought some EVO X GSR alloys for mine. Reading the evolutionm forum, the best size tyre to fit, albeit with a slight stretch is the 235/40/18 or 235/35/18. I'm also gonna fit some Tein S springs but the US recommend rolling the 'fenders'. Does anyone know of a garage near Crewe that they recommend to do this. Here is a pic of what it might look like although I am thinking of changing the colour of the alloys.

and here is a pic of what it looks like now standard..

Cheers Spike, I know that place, i'll pop in and enquire. Did you get my PM that I sent you? Unfortunately I have since found that I need to become a member before I receive any PM's so can't get a reply from you. Next payday I will join the MLR anyway.

ano it should have and i think now ppl they are bringing out one thats slightly faster and lower, and dont quote me on this but possiblity they are bring out an evo hatchback

Davy

That has got to be the coolest Sportback in the country. Perhaps Mitsubishi could offer a 'Sportpack' for the Sportback, lowered ride height and uprated pads?

Exactly how much have you lowered the ride height?

Andy
Cheers matey they are supposed to drop it 2" all round but havent checked and didnt check before the drop.
