Well what can I say.....

After much deliberation and thought due to the shear volume and choices on offer I finally purchased a helmet. The helmet (OMP SPEED) arrived Tuesday this week and so I am now 1 step closer to hitting the track.

My only concerns now simply lie with the car itself. Not wanting to track it till it has been forged and had a new clutch. However, this should be sorted come the new year and therefore my list of excuses will all but have been exhausted....

CarLimits and beyond

CarLimits runs a number of driving days at a number of venues, the one I attended was an airfield day with 4 people, however they run days for 2 people too and I'm sure you could even get them to yourself if you wanted. Having so few people there was good for the turnaround, but as everything was done in your own car there was still a fair bit of waiting around as each person needed instruction on their own while the others waited. "Keep to the left, threshold brake, turn, back on the throttle, trail brake and dig in, double apex but hold a single line, brake, feather the throttle and constant speed through these bends..." That's about 15 seconds worth of instructions you'll be processing when you're on a CAT Driver Training Day such as the one recently organised by the MLR's driver training co-ordinator. The previous days looked like great fun so I didn't have any hesitation in signing up for the latest one....
