This is very sad. The Evo has indeed gone the same way as the new Scooby. It looks very boring and bland, quite a step down in my opinion. Looks like I'll be holding on to my car for quite some time then. I wonder if this will positively affect used values of VI's at all?

If you want to see the latest spyshots Brian mentioned, go to:

Very sad..

Hmm, that rear wing looks a bit Scoobish.
Not that I have anything against scoobies, they are a fine car.

I was thinking about buying an E7 but when I saw the pics,
I ended up buying a E6 instead.

Official release of Evo VII pictures is Jan/26, but obviously there are a few of them around already.

Its no where near as bland as the new scooby!
Then again its no oil painting but what did you expect form a Evo based on a saloon called Cedric!
5 minutes to Driven.....hehe

It looked very similar to the one advertised in the url's below.
Its lost its wheel arches (bad move!) and the opening for the intercooler in the front valance
seems longer width ways but less deep in height, which may mean a new intercooler design.
Not as bad as the new scoob, but definitely 'slimmer looking'even though it has allegedly gained 100kg in weight!

Is this the last of the EVO Lancers ?

Definitely Mitsi has lost her direction in designing the Evo7. Nothing to shout about to say the least. Why bother coming out with evolution models when they are going to use a new WRC car for rally? Trying to make more money I guess. Anyway, we cannot keep up with it as I understand there will be an Evo8 coming next year and a 9 the following and it goes on and on. That is the trouble with buying a Japanese car.

Brilliant move Mitsubishi : the crappy looks, overweight body (heavier apparently) and lesser performance of the 7 are bound to make the E5 (I,m bound to say) and E6 the really collectable Evo's - classics in their own time.

P.S. The E5 is of course am meaner sportier looking car than the 6 anyway, leavign the new E7 a poor runner-up ! [img]http://www.ltregister.f9.co.uk/graphics/Wilk.gif border|EQU| 0 align|EQU| middle >

Maybe we should reserve our judgement until we actually see the car. Judging from pictures I have seen I am definitly not impressed. Technically it maybe more advanced than our Evo5 and amp;6 but we have to wait till we drive it.
