View Full Version : A.Y.C. recall - A different one (Evo 5 & 6)
In the news page of the latest Evo magazine (December 2000) they state that Evo 5 and amp; 6's are being recalled to modify the A.Y.C. ECU program to make it more suitable for U.K. roads and drivers. Apparently we drive our cars a lot harder over here http://www.ltregister.f9.co.uk/graphics/Happy.gif <!--e1-->
Does anyone know if this is correct or have they got themselves confused with the more serious A.Y.C. recall effecting 4 and amp; 5's?
EVO mag does say that. However it also stipulates GREYS only? Your guess is as good as mine!
I assume that U.K. cars will already have been modified before sale but who knows with Ralliart?
I have spoken to Colt about the small piece in Evo magazine and amp; they say it is the same recall!.My V is on the recall list,they e-mailed yesterday to say the parts are on order and amp; my local dealer will be in touch.(I am not holding my breath!)
A case of EVO mag being misinformed then. Its a bit worrying that the mag trys to make out as if its just a minor problem when it can mean fryed diffs etc.! Perhaps an email to them may be of use to correct the matter?
I belive that CCC are waiting for the parts from Japan as they now have your details plus the recall is only for evo 4 and 5.
So, to confirm - does this mean I DO have to get in touch with somebody to sort out my grey EVO VI ?
Sigh... [img]http://www.ltregister.f9.co.uk/graphics/happy1.gif border|EQU| 0 align|EQU| absmiddle ><!--e1-->
E4 and 5 only according to Mitsubishi but we all know how good their recall system is so who knows it might effect the 6 eventually.
