View Full Version : So who's doing what to their car for Lydden Hill?

John@EvoBreakers

With Lydden a little over a month away i was wondering what people have in the pipe line for there cars.

To start the thread off, i had a bit a disasterous last trip to Lydden BHP Show wiping out my engine and gearbox all in 2 sessions.

So a fresh 2.0 longrod TRL Developments engine for me and gearbox has been rebuilt by Clive W. (all parts supplied by Ross Sport)

After the controversy about my boot floor being removed i have taken the decision to put a standard one back in to please the critics. It will be interesting to see if putting a standard one back in will slow me down.

Lets hear peoples preperation avenues please...

(THIS THREAD IS INTENDED FOR A GENERAL DISCUSSION ABOUT PEOPLES PREPERATIONS ***NOT REGS**)

Not 100% sure I will make it to Lydden yet as I'm sorting out prices for a car transporter, but....

Getting rid of the standard Evo 8 Superdragger and having TRL make me an 3" exhaust up with a silencer and backbox from here:

http://www.jetex.co.uk/website/custom_parts.php?mat=Stainless&dia=3.0+inch

Should release a few ponies, help top end power and maybe even spool.

...that's about it I think.

Oh! right, i was over at TRL today, so you've dropped the 2.3ltr Aluminium rod Ross Sport kit and Owens Evo 9 Turbo, F2 Spec Ball bearing conversion , 76mm billet cut comp wheel, bullet nut larger turbine wheel, 200% balancing, blue printing work done on the turbo, upgraded actuators, big wastegate conversion and race spec porting works.

After you persuaded Owens to leave it as a stock appearing compressor cover too with out a name plate. I guess the CliveW dog box and "it must still be running the bearings in" idea is on the back burner as well.

Did you get mould for the Carbon fibre spare wheel well. No one will notice if the boot is sprayed black.

Are you still having the secret slim shot nos kit installed inside the block once the ballance shafts are removed.

Was all that supposed to be secret. Ooopsie :D

Why what you got mate?

Eagle F1 on front. Not assyms.

REO50As on the rears

I was going to buy 2 tyres to match either the fronts or rears, but tbh, I wouldn't have bought either for the car given the choice.

My plan is to wear them out and then replace all 4 with a proper set :)

Got to give you a chance GUM :mhihi:
