We need minimum 10 bookings by the end of this year for us to start putting this together for 2011 (it’s a lot of organisation :lol: ) but we will need more than 10 to actually run it… so don’t delay – book today!!!!

Ist year diff blew up on starion. DNF
2nd year colt made it to the end with only two punctures .F
3rd year colt destroyed clutch after an hour. DNF

I would "probably" get a couple of friends to do it (but they are not MLR members), however we are still way ahead of time (a lot of stuff can happen between now and MLR500) and I cant arrange a car (because we are in Portugal).
Never the less I will speak with a couple of friends to see what they say and if they are willing to go.

But for me I would just perfer to be part of a team that is UK based and can sort everything there (car) so I would just have to pay for my part, appear a couple of days before the event and have some driving time / lots of fun.

Well we've missed the 31st December deadline and once again failed! :rolleyes:
So, to give the event and those teams who have already booked one more chance, the absolute FINAL deadline is 31 January (no really it is!!) - and unless we have 10 teams booked in and paid by then I'm sorry to say the event won't be happening :(

Unfortunately, even after the additional month extension, we only had 7 teams book which however you cut it isn't the 10 required. TBH we need more than 10 to make it worthwhile, but I've always felt if we reached 10 teams the event might have enough impetus to get another 8 to 10 teams. With less than 10 it's just a non starter :(

Looking back at previous years since we ran the first MLR500, it would appear that this may work better as a bi-annual event as we always seem to struggle to get enough interest annually. I'm happy to look at this for 2012 and start a thread towards the end of 2011 with a similar deadline, but I'm afraid the MLR can't bankroll the event.

As for the teams who have paid, I can either refund you or carry it forward to 2012 - just let me know.

Totally understand but can't deny I am absolutely gutted by this :cry:
It was such fun last year, but I'm sure we'll be there next year! :D

Now we'll have to decide whether to keep the Colt to run for a third MLR or scrap her & start again.......:confused::cry:;)

As a team member with Chris, its disheartening to see the MLR's stance of booking so far in advance, especially after our no show last year. The car is ready and able now and we are convinced its got the capabilites to win. :smthumbup

Like Chris said, so far in advance is a bit much, especially as this landed around Christmas time and January. If it was a deadline of say two months then that would be more acheiveable.

I know where ther is an gen 2 colt RS sitting in a field gathering dust, is the 500 pound limit the price you pay or market value. obviously a gen 2 mivec rs is worth more than 500 quid but i can get one for 500 quid or even less

£500 is the total cost of of your completed vehicle at entry (excluding safety equipment i.e. seat, harness and roll cage if needed!) and any car can be purchased by anyone for £500 after the event has finished.
