I'm interested in the above but would like some opinions as to whether it is beneficial.
Does fitting a turbo jacket really help the turbo to spool up quicker? :mitsi:
I've had my manifold ceramic coated by Zircotec. This definitely helps keep under bonnet temps down and is supposed to help the turbo spool up quicker too. JohnD has his manifold coated by Zircotec and a few minutes after he had done his lap of the Scottish Spring track at Ingleston he was able to hold his hand on his manifold. Can't see this being possible with a non coated manifold.
If your interested in having anything coated by Zircotec then drop me a PM and i'll point you in the right direction.

I had mine done by Camcoat and it's cr4p.
All the external stuff has cracked and started to peel off.
Luckily the stuff inside seems to have stuck.
£200 odd well spent! NOT!
However...
Does reduce radiant heat substantialy.
Have a read of this

If its good enough for Lamborghini, Koenigsegg, Aston Martin and touring cars then its good enough for my 6.

Zircotec shouldn't peel as its plasma sprayed at almost 10000 degrees C so welds itself to the manifold.

Zircotec is a completely different ball of fish.
Pukka ****.
If doing again I'd go that route

I used zircotec to ceramic coat my manifold and GT42RS exhaust housing, the quality was top notch!
I would recommend them!!

thanks guys, what about the turbo blanket :smthumbup
In theory it should do the same although how effective they are is anyones guess.

I can vouch the same experience with camcoat i spent over 500 on coatings on manifold, turbo housing comp and turbine, down pipe & lower down pipe.
Started flaking off and secondly when he returned the manifold because he didn't jig it it warped and then i had to spent another £60 on machine work!!!!:goingmad::wallbang::mad:
DONT USE

i might get my Full race done but i'd also like downpipe and lower down pipe to take heat off the radiator. But its expense vs actual gain i suppose but defiantly beneficial.
I know a few ross manifolds have been ceramic coated can anybody post there ceramic manifold engine pics as i'd like to see the different colours of them in situ to make my mind up. I thing there are white, silver & as above Matt ziro coated ceramic mani's.
cheers

The stuff that RossW has posted in the past has all be Zircotec'd as far as I'm aware:smthumbup
Have a look at the Zircotec website for some pics of various parts in different colours.
Baz, Think theres deffo enough interest to pass on info to Ken (BHP) for a GB...at the end of my next trip home, manifold and turbine + elbow will be sent to Zirco for a full treatment....then its a full exhaust treatment also (funds permitting)

Ewan,
I'd passed all the info onto Ken before and nothing ever came of it mate:confused:
