Bought 4xD98J (235x45x17) direct from Dunlop (Picked them up myself) and paid 70+ VAT each

These are OK as normal road tyres although they do take longer to warm up in the mornings, and if you are driving through standing water in the pouring rain, wou will probably wish that you had normal road tyres. In the dry however it a completely different story, they are much, much better than any road tyre. They are also noisy compared with a normal tyre (just look at the tread pattern). According to Dunlop the DO1J will be 'slightly' better in the dry and 'much' better in the wet, as well a being quieter, however at near enough half price I am more than happy to put up with the noise.
(Once these last D98Js have been sold it is highly unlikley that there will ever be any more made, so if you do buy then make sure you alos get at least one spare, if not two!!)

Rosco no they dont do that size.

The sizes I have asked for are :-

235/45/ZR17 = 120.00 each inc vat
235/40/ZR18 = 130.00 each inc vat

Postage I will have to find out about, the place I am buying them from will not be interested in posting them out so I will have to arrange that.

I need to finalise the order by Wednesday latest next week.

PM or e-mail me to order, I will give you payment details.

Rob
Edited to say that the 18's are limited supply so price subject to availablity thats why we need to sort by wednesday

Hi Rob
Are you able to find out what other sizes are available in 17's, basically want a lower profile as last time I had 215/45/17 and still had a fair amount of tyre roll. Do they do anything else between 215-235 with lower than a 45 profile?

How are those semi-slicks in 235/17/40 on 7,5" wheels? Shold I better stay with 225/45.
I can get Yokis 032R in 235/17/40 for a good price.
Shold I go for it?

JUst a point for you guys, I believe they have only 4mm tread not 8mm. Road tyres have 8mm, comp tyres (like D01J and Michelin Pilot sports tend to have 4mm)

Reims
25-03-2003, 19:45
Blade, funny you should mention this as yesterday I had a new DO1J fitted due to a fappin puncture. Whilst there I got the guy to measure the tread against a normal road tyre.

They have 5mm from new compared to the normal 8mm.

Having said this, mine are wearing extremely well! :)

The prices Jez quoted are inclusive of the 10% discount dunlop motorsport give their account holders so unless you have another contact, or know any different, this is the best price you will get.

educate me guys! i do alot of motorway miles aswell and wondered how these Dunlops stand up to extended use?

What sort of wear are you experiencing compared to road tyres?

Thanks
