View Full Version : Evo 6 RSII
It took me along time to find a genuinely good conditon Evo 6 RSII. The RSII is a rare car at the best of times, they were only avalible in White and Silver in RHD form, with most of them being White, it makes this car even more special. This car is nearly as good as new, I travelled over 700 miles round trip to get this car, the bodywork is all original, never been painted and never had any bodywork done at all.
The advantage of the RS2 model over the usual GSR is that this car is lighter (approx 40kg), stronger (has more spot welds to the body), and has no AYC or ABS, which makes it a propper drivers car and has stronger running gear (ideal if you want to up the power even more), it has a short 1st, 2nd and 3rd gear, but retains the higher 4th and 5th from the GSR's or it will happily travel along the motorway without revving high.
Ontop of this, the car is also cheaper to service, as the AYC fluid won't need changing every 4500 miles.
Even though this is a lightweight version, it still has Aircon (not digital climiate control), Electric Windows, Electric Mirrors (not folding), and Remote Central Locking.
She is in great condition, inside and out.
The car is a Japaneese import and came over in 2002, don't let this put you off as all evo 6's are imports.
As she has been in the country a while she does have some receipts with her as well as a service history.
The car is HPI clear and you are more than welcome to check this yourself.
As she has been here a while she has had a few modifications done to increase the looks and power.
The modifications include the following:
Apexi Power FC ecu (Mapped by RC Developments @ 1.5bar boost).
Apexi Power FC Boost Control Kit (this is controlled by the ecu).
HKS Super Power Flow Air Filter Induction Kit.
3" Turbo Back Blue Flame Stainless Exhaust System. (lovely burble at idle, but not too loud when driving, no nasty drone when on the motorway).
Cusco 3 Point Front Strut Brace.
Poilished Oil Catch Can.
Blue Samco Vacumn Hosing in the engine bay.
Cusco Twin Plate Clutch (fitted November 06).
New Rear Crank Seal (fitted at same time as the clutch).
Uprated Fuel Pump.
HKS / Denso Iridium Spark Plugs.
Eibach Lowering Springs.
18" Compomotive MO Alloys in Anthricite (these are as new, not a mark on them anywhere).
235/40/18 Toyo Proxy T1-R's all round, (loads of tread left).
Ferrodo DS2500 Brake Pads all round.
Full Evo 6 GSR Recaro Interior (Front and Rear Seats and Door Cards).
Cat 1 Alarm and Immobiliser.
As you can see a great deal of time and money has been spent to get this car looking right and running well. The power delivery is very smooth and she pulls very hard all the way through the rev range in every gear, you don't need to change down on the motorway to overtake there is power even in 5th gear.
She was rolling roaded in September to check the fueling and all was spot on, she made a healthy 366.4bhp at Powerstation in Tewkesbury.
I took her to santa pod in October and ran a 13.033 1/4 mile @ 106.6mph with the clutch slipping, this is why the Cusco Twin Plate Clutch has now been fitted.
Bodywise there is some stone chips on the front of the car and 1 small ding in the bottom of the drivers front door (smaller than a 5p piece), which a dent guy can knock out easily, other than that, the car is spotless for a 6 yr old car.
Interior is spot on, the Seats have no wear, no burns and no tears, and are as new. The dashboard is unmarked, no phone kit holes etc.
I love it, but I now have a company car and I just don't get the time to drive it, so I would rather someone else got to enjoy it and I will get something a bit cheaper to use as a weekend toy.
Tax is end of March 07, and Mot is August 07.

Please remember this is the RS2 model, which means NO AYC or ABS, so servicing on this model is alot cheaper than a normal GSR evo 6 and the running gear is alot stronger.

This month alone i've spent over £1200 which I haven't got.
Keep borrowing money and as im about to pay it back, I need to spend it on the car to keep it up together.
This month, I've fitted a twin plate clutch, and 2 days after the Rear crank seal went, so it's all coming apart again now to have that replaced. The seal is only weaping, but it's enough to show on the back of the plate that covers the flywheel.
Last thing I want is to wreck a clutch due to oil from the crank seal so it's being sorted.
So it's the same labour cost as having the clutch done again.

Pile of ****e, but have to have it, along with fuel card, so getting hit with tax big time, along with the company messing it all up, so it's costing me nearly the same as the evo per month now.
1 has to go, if I ditch the company car, then I loose the job 2 :(
So it's a no brainer the evo has to go :(

Wanted to give ppl on here and a couple of the other sites I visit a chance first ( haven't picked car up from garage yet anyway).
If it doesn't go on the forums or pistonheads then i'll put it in the trader.
Would rather it went to someone that has a interest in cars tho, than someone that just wants it for a rag about and end up wrecking it.

Yeh maybe, but tbh I am getting interest in it (maybe not on here, but other places it's advertised), but I keep getting offered PX's that I don't want.

I'm not in a hurry to sell, which is just aswell as it's xmas.
Im gonna leave it up for sale, but won't be bumping it so often.
Just bought some new bits for it, so once there fitted and it's been remapped power should be in excess of 380bhp and the torque should be a little higher as well :D
i know you have said its gsr interior but could you post up some pics of it.

I had the same problem when selling my last 1, was for sale for over 6 months, nobody bothered to turn up when they said they would come and have a look.
Finally someone did come to see it, and that person bought it.
Maybe I am too honest with my discription as I haven't put MINT or in Showroom condition in the advert.

I've had my eye on this evo for ages but I'm in Germany and trying to sell my RX7 from here is impossible when I only come home about 5days in every month. I'd rather a seller be honest than big their car up. I went to look at a car R33 GTR before christmas. Meant to be one of the best in Britain with a good reputation. I was ready to pay top wack for it, but it wasn't as described. Wasted 400mile round trip. :cry:
Who expects an evo not to have the odd stone chip?!

Come on guys, ideal to use as an everyday car as the mileage is low, and the ride isn't harsh.
Oh and it's great for crusing on the motorway as it has the GSR gearing ;)

It's had alot of money spent on it since then aswell m8 ;)
Twin Plate clutch, rear crank seal, rear window switches, new air filter, new catch tank, samco vac hoses etc.
Thats just off the top of my head.
EDIT, Nearly Forgot about the exhaust and removing / repainting all the mesh.

Yeh me m8 got a new SLR so decided to put it to the test, that pic in b&w is my fave but he couldn't workout the settings on it (only got it yesterday) so it came out all orange due to the outside lighting :(
So I just converted it to b&w to make it look ok ;)
We tried to take interior shots etc, but the lighting was crap, so there all too dark or too bright and you can't see anything.

i showed my brother your car as he wants to get a subaru, tried persuading him to get this but he wants a subaru still coz of the sound they make lol.
he agree's with me that your evo 6 is the best 6 we've seen.
im also having trouble selling myn to, starting to get a bit more interest now but still, its been up for a long time.

Nah seriously thats the only thing that lets the evo's down, they sound too smooth for the agressive looking car they are.

The car is only worth what someone is willing to pay...............market value.
Fantastic looking car but also a lot of car out there for that sort of money. Cars always cost, whatever it is. If you need to sell then IMO drop it to sell and if you dont need to sell, stop wasting your time at that price cos you may be sitting with it for a while yet as it depreciates further. Very true in what your saying, however I feel the car is worth the asking price, and due to the fact I am still getting alot of interest in it at this price, the price stays.
I know not everyone thinks the price is good, but hey if they don't want to pay the money Im not forcing them too.
