Hi everyone,

As i said in another thread, I have been dismissed from work (since my boss found out I was setting up my own business)...........the new business isnt gonna be ready for another month or so, and it takes about 3 - 4 mths to build up a pipeline and start earning money (im a mortgage broker)

Im am starting to run out of funds to keep me going so the Evo has to go :( :(

I havent had it much more than 5/6 weeks, since 14th April in fact.

In that time i have had to fit a brand new Thatcham Cat 1 alarm for insurance. I have also put 6mths tax and had the oil and filter changed (Silkolene Pro 10 - 50).

I had the car rolling roaded a few weeks back and it produced 271bhp and 233lbs/ft at Power Engineering, with graph. Only main comment is that the car is over fuelling slightly (may have an aftermarket ecu, which i need to check properly)

It has 5mths tax left and MOT valid till November.

I am advertising the car at £2000

There a few negatives about the car:

Bottom end is f*cked, will need rebuild or replacement engine

- Although the car is clean and straight, its not perfect.........light scrapes on the wheels, a couple tiny dents, scratches on front and rear bumpers etc.

-There is no rust on the car except from some small patches of light surface rust on the boot floor underneath the spare tyre (i think some water must have leaked in at some point in the cars life)

- The idle stepper control motor is on its way out, very low idle from cold start, but once warmed through, its fine.

-The anti-roll bar drop links will need replacing, since there is the occasional knock and ive had it checked out by a mechanic who identified the problem as the drop links.

Overall the car drives/handles/stops very well and its great fun to hustle about.

i took some new pics today will get em on here tonite.

I hadnt used the car for over a week, so I took it to work with me, after work took it to get cleaned and polished, then down to Aces cafe for the monthyl Jap meet.

Then back home again. I really do love driving the car it comes on boost so quickly and its very punchy. Trouble is its the only asset i got worth any money that i can access for my business.

Even if anyone reading this thinks Im asking too much, feel free to contact me to discuss what your are willing to pay. it needs to go !

Still for sale

At £4000 its a well priced, nice spec car..........although I havent been very active on the MLR forum, lots of the original members know me and everyone can see ive been a member on here since 2001.

Im not just some bloke with no history on here who has signed up to sell his car, this is a genuine sale in my time of need.

Bad bad bad news !!

Had someone coming to hopefully buy the car today, so I get it started up this morning after not having started it for over a week. Only to hear a nasty clattering sound from the engine.

I turn it off immediately and make sure there is oil........hmm full sump............ok start it again same thing except it turns over for ages before firing up.

Still same clattering noise.........sounds like a dry engine, thrashy, like an old diesel with 400000 miles on the clock.

So the conclusion is the bottom end is f*cked big time. And I really dont know how..........the last time I drove it, it was fine , and there was no signs.

Im so gutted, so so gutted, I still really need to sell the car, it must be worth £2500 of someones money.

hmm.... thats a shame to hear that mate, i would buy the car but not for that price if the engine has noc in it....

ill buy it off you if you lower the price.. remembering im in australia so the price is still big here 2000 quid is like $5000 my money

im also from England, Dover so i have contacts to come around and look at the car.. if your interested in lowering price you can look my way im thinking like 1500 quid :s sorry dude but the car doesnt sound like its going to be cheap to fix.

Tough break fella. I know how much you love the car from when i met ya at ace cafe.

Was also looking to sell mine but the clutch gave out a day before it was meant to sell so now i've decieded to keep it after replacing the clutch and flywheel.

hi,

since the engine hasnt been taken apart and stripped down, the full extent of the damage is not known.

It will need bearings, .maybe the crank re-grinding, a re-bore, new valves and putting back together.

This is all an assumption, i reckon a rebuild would cost about £1000 - 1500 depending who you used and what parts.

Or there are a few engines for sale for around the £500 mark.

So you could have yourself a nice Evo 3 up and running for under £3K...........i havent got the time or the money to get involved in fixing it.
