So that means they'd wanna drive a 40k pile of crap?
Dont see why a more normal evo has to be a "pile of crap"
Id pick a nice MR with 400bhp upgrade anyday of the week over an FQ400.
Its not to say i dont like the 400's...I do. But i dont really see why they are put up on a pedestle. IMO the FQ360 is the peak. Its a great all rounder.
You dont need a forged engine or motec to run 400bhp.
400bhp can easily be done with ECU-TEK. And theres alot of cars running 400bhp on stock internals and have been for some time without issue.
If you want to be pedantic then add another 2k and then its forged aswell for extra strength.
And anyway, over-all point is you can have a much quicker, stronger, more reliable car in every way for much less than the fq400 price.
Dont want this to turn into a fully blown argument, its silly. The above is just my point of view, which i know alot of people share. To me, the fq-400 just doesnt make sense.
Thing is they were aimed at a slightly different market ,
For people who wanted ultimate performance but didnt want to have to mod, so the premium in price was to be able to go and buy a 400 bhp car with a warranty and no need to mod.
Go on to youtube type in fq400 vs lambo and watch the video.
Seen the top gear video..I honestly think it was skewed slightly to make a point..the lambo pulls away on the straits and evo seems to catch it in the corners.
I can understand why people would want to buy a car and not mod it..Sometimes modding ruins a car, makes it rough and uncomfortable and causes really anoying little issues. But if the right research is put into a car and its done using the right parts. Then you really can build a much better car and it be perfectly useable.
Gues thats just the engineer side in me..I love tinkering with my cars.

Lol
And it was so easy just too walk into a showroom and just buy a 400 bhp car people didnt care at what cost??
The arguement bout tuning a 260 or mr 300 etc up too 400 bhp for pennies will always go on...
Personally love the 400 wish i could afford one just for the exclusivity factor!!!
Bit :fftopic: but whereabouts you in wales evo jay??
Some people don't like modding cars and wouldn't have the first idea about it or where to start or what to start with. they just get there cheque book out and hey presto a 400 bhp car ready to roll off the forecourt.

it's the strait from the box thing you buy it and drive it a few years later you swap it for a new one i bet most people dont swap it for a evo but for a bmw or porche then never go back
Just a toy for some1 with loads of lolly. They buy it keep it for 6 months then move on to a porche or M3 or tvr.. Those type of people.. the city banker type who play squash and go skiing with there chums... Not petrol heads like us who just wanna go faster cheaper. Its all image for them and hobbys for us. If i had the cash i'd buy a fq400 and mod it or trade it in for a porche and mod that or a tvr and mod that not skiing but track days..
