Depends which model you're talking about, but in general it is only the VII onward you need to worry about getting a "UK" version for. They're easy to spot cos they are labelled FQs.
1) In my experience this is opposite - Jap cars don't often have rear wipers as it doesn't rain as much. Mine doesn't have one and it's an import, my van doesn't have one and that's an import.
2) Only personally seen Japanese text on a classic WRX 2 door, other than that I've never seen this (instructions / warning stickers in enginebay and in cabin probably would) - unless it's tuning companies like Nismo etc.
4) I've asked alot of people this question and I've been told (whether rightly or wrongly) that all cars come out with the same underseal - I'm happy to be corrected on this as I may have to get mine done myself!
5) Only stupid insurance companies charge you more for an import "oh but the parts are more expensive on an import" - 99.9% of the time that's bull! This import myth is total pub talk!
I don't think many people on here would be put off with any Evo both UK or import, probably a big pull for some would be warranty for UK cars - trouble is that means limited modifications until warranty runs out so as not to void it. I went Jap as I wanted the GT.
Hi
My UK motor has the above fitted i have heard that the imports don't come with underseal on them, i'm sure Aidy will jump on me now and put me right
Cheers Darren

1) My 3 is a Japanese Import (obviously) and has a rear wiper!!
4) My car has no underseal, is a lovely white colour!!
5) Erm I think the import versions of Evo's are more expensive to insure to be honest. Some "import" companies had never even heard of an Evo III.
Just my 2p, Aidy feel free to correct.
