Armour All do a product called clean up wipes and these work a treat to get rid of the white residue from the wax. Also worth a try is APC cleaner such as flash however you may wish to try this a smaple non visible partfirst.
Autoglym bumper care is the best.
I've tried them all and always go back to the Autoglym. Just cut a small square of sponge and squeeze a little on, great for detailing the fiddly bits like wipers and door surrounds etc.

Strange as it may sound, peanut butter does actually work. I got some wax onto some of the window rubbers of my car and when it rained, i got white wax spots on the rubber, put peanut butter on, left it for a while then wipped it off and hey presto, it worked
trouble is all the canny folk on here think they are getting their leg pulled.a jar of own make smooth peanut butter far more effective and cheap than overpriced valeting gel
another easy shine tip is a can of spray on furniture polish to give your car that final glaze...at about 20 odd pence a can its well worth while, acts as a cheap sealant for alloys too[some traders use this as a quick auction prep all over the car when going to auction]a lot easier and less intensive than carnubra based wax and doesnt leave white marks in chips etc, which even the silicone based polishes seem to do.

The Autoglym bumper care stuff is ok if all you want to do is cover up the white residue. However you will find that once the bumper care wears off it will show the white wax. What you need to do is remove the wax completely so the peanut butter is best as is amrmour all wipes.
I tried the peanut butter on my rocker cover gasket to bring it up,but spilt it on the exhaust manifold. I thought f#uk it and chucked some banana on there too, then some white bread, and had a nice toasted nana and peanut butter toastie.
