These are OEM style VG's painted! Exact same mold as OEM and comes with the antenna clip just like the OEM piece. Gauranteed perfect fitment or your money back. The VG's come in OEM VG black, silver, red, yellow, white, graphite gray, blue by you and electric blue. Does anyone know what the diffrence is ? fancy one of these too, is it the curve or the width thats the problem, somebody must have offered it up to know why it won't fit? For £60 might be worth a chance.

I dont think you can mod it to fit a earlier model Evo but you can always try but highly doubt it.

Just to let you all know received mine yesterday, it looks superb and the finish is excellent very pleased with it, will post some pics when its fitted.

Had to laugh tho', Derek posted it from Taipei on the 17 January and it arrived in York on the 19 Jan, it then took 4 days to get from York to just outside Hull :(

2 days to come halfway round the world and 4 days to do approx 40 miles :o

heard horror stories of these generators things flying off, i thought the clips held them in place?

I have sold over 200 VG's and not one has flown off. The antenna clip doesnt hold it in place its the 3M adhesive that holds it in place. The antenna clip is to cover the factory antenna hole. If in any case your VG flies off ill refund your money :)
When installed correctly it wont fly off.

just fitted mine yesterday and took the car for a blast (on a private road) at just under double the national speed limit and its still there, so i reckon the 3M tape and clip are doing the job :)

just took 5 mins to fit. i found the best way to do was to pop the rubber trims out above the doors, fit clip to inside of vortex gen then tape the gen up, clip clips under rubber trim, press down the taped generator, screw in areial, pop the rubber trim back down,Job done!

So my parts have been in a box for a while as the weather has been rubbish, so today it brightened up, and out I went to affix.
Vortex went on, and I take it you put the tape on the front underside, and the rear underside, and stick it well. I had a problem, around the ariel, the back part of the vortex was slightly raised, but with some heavy pushing it went down. Took a while for the tape to bite, but when it did, it looked very a very smooth finish, I just hope it doesn't pop up again. I'm sure it was all in the right place, looks good when all attached good.
Next I went for the gurney flap. Can I ask, should this go from end to end, as mine is about 2 inches short each end?, please see picture below. If this is wrong, then please can I have longer one, gurney flap that is!

TBH, if you stick it on well I wouldn't bother with the clip as it just goes rusty in a week or 2 and looks cr*p, which is a shame as the rest of the VG is top quality and looks ace.

Regarding the rust issue you can just put some WD-40 on it to preven it from rusting. If you have a problem with them rusting and would like a new clip let me know and ill send you new one.

Here is how the clip is installed.

Just to update ive just fitted mine and the finish and fixture is superb, no high spots and easy to fit, cant go wrong for the money.

as for fitting its all in the preparation, i stuck the double sided tape down then warmed the vortex generator with a hairdryer for ten minutes, then cleaned the roof with window cleaner to make sure the surface was spotless, and stuck it down, there is no way it will lift now unless you get a screwdriver behind it, i would post pictures but there is a zillion on here allready.

averall great to deal with, as are most of the traders on here.

My clip has gone very rusty, I see you say you will replace the clip, but obviously this means taking off the vortex to replace?
Anyway if so I would like to replace my clip, so if possible I would like a new one and some tape to refit after.

I dont think you need to remove the VG. You can try and put the new clip over the old piece by sliding it in. You can try spraying it with WD-40 and just wipe it down. If not send me a pm and ill send a new clip out to you :)

What is the best way to remove the rubber trims on the roof?

When i prise the rubber back there is white clips but i cant figure out which is the best way to get them off :(

open the trunk and start pulling from the bottom and work your way up to the roof. When you pull up it will make a popping noise which is normal...to put it back in just use your palm and bang it down starting from the top and work your way down.

you mean the antenna correct? The antenna screws on after the VG is installed so you can remove it anytime you wish.

i have heard alot people say that they have had theres come off whilst driving and sometimes causing damage(not these ones but vg,s in general) so how god is the stuff that sticks them down and can there be issues with it holding water and causing rust ect?and what do mitsubishi use to stick there ones down with.

When mounted properly it will not fly off. We supply more than enough 3M adhesives. We have sold hundreds of VG's and not one has flew off. Just make sure your roof is clean and dry when you install it and your good to go...just dont wax it because wax is slippery and the 3M tape wont stick on good.
