After disassembling, you need to brush and burn the black stuff away. This will enable the welding spots to hold onto the metal and saves a little weight, too :)

not the way i would do it . seam welding like this can cause heat fractures . when the welding is done it work hardens the steel either side of the weld making it weaker . the best way to do it is with a pro spot/ seam welder . this way excess heat is kept down and also you can quench the weld too . also adds no weight . this process of seam welding the car will give a more ridgid body shell than say just a bolt in rollcage . welded rollcages are the way to go for track /sprint use . also you must make sure you link to front and rear strut tops . good luck claud

Thanks for commenting on the welding. I didnt understand all of what you said. How should they have welded it if not this way? :confused:

I have a welded roll cage, but the car is for road use :D

That's done :) In a rather nice way :) I tried to upload the pictures, but the flood control kept me from doing it :( Let me try again (see other thread).

No, couldnt find any. Had problems with the camera to PC link software. Just reinstalled windows :eek:
