Im up for this, not done any legal racing[img]http://www.ltregister.f9.co.uk/graphics/happy1.gif border|EQU| 0 align|EQU| absmiddle ><!--e1-->, but when I took an elise around Silverstone the instructor said I was above average and I didnt lose it which couldnt be said for a 911 turbo owner who had a good look at the grass areas around the track.
Cheers
Al

Wow ! I'm up for this.
I've done several 2 and 3 hour endurance racers and have several karting trophies.
Mind you I'm probably out of practice and definatly not as fit. Better get down the gym !

How many possible people have we got so far....?

I just have an idea how to win it easily: Just get some 10 year old kids that know a little bit about karting, and they'll be able to cain any adult in those karts. I used to despair with my mates when a friend had a kart track and we would race about 3-4 hours every weekend getting within 1/100 of a second of each other and then some 10 year old kid would drive around the circuit, completely off the racing line and take half a second of our best laps... Just an idea [img]http://www.ltregister.f9.co.uk/graphics/Wilk.gif border|EQU| 0 align|EQU| middle >

Yeah you definitely need some lightweight short arses, unfortunately I don't fit either category [img]http://www.ltregister.f9.co.uk/graphics/wink1.gif border|EQU| 0 align|EQU| absmiddle ><!--e3-->
I have only tried karting twice, first time I got a trophy, second time I got black flagged [img]http://www.ltregister.f9.co.uk/graphics/wink1.gif border|EQU| 0 align|EQU| absmiddle ><!--e3-->

Trevors post says these are twin-engined pro-karts.. none of that single engine 1bhp nonesense [img]http://www.ltregister.f9.co.uk/graphics/Happy.gif border|EQU| 0 align|EQU| middle >

These are the specs from the web:
Honda twin-engined Pro Kart
Engine: 2x 160cc 4 stroke
Rev Limit: 8,000 rpm
Max Power: 5.5 bhp each
Engine Life: n/a
Chassis: Simon Wright racing Pro Kart, space frame
Brakes: single piece disc
Tyres: Apexis racing slicks
Weight (inc. driver): 160 kg
Max Speed: 70 mph
0 - 60 time: 6 sec

C'mon, lets see if we can wear some skin off our arses [img]http://www.ltregister.f9.co.uk/graphics/biggrin1.gif border|EQU| 0 align|EQU| absmiddle ><!--e13-->

Hmmm, could be tempted even if it's a fair trip from Darlo. Do you think they would mind if we used my 250cc gearbox kart instead of the ****py 4 strokes [img]http://www.ltregister.f9.co.uk/graphics/biggrin1.gif border|EQU| 0 align|EQU| absmiddle ><!--e13-->

If I remember to brake with the left foot (gear box karts use convential pedal arrangement) I shouldn't go far wrong.

I would love to but this is two days before I am due to become a parent so I might get into just a bit of trouble if I do. Maybe next time.

Steve.

Blimey RS, you've got a gearbox kart ? You must have testicles the size of melons ! Those things are 'kin quick.

Hmm, September... plenty time to get some slim fast and get to be an 11 stone Calista Flockhart wannabee.... [img]http://www.ltregister.f9.co.uk/graphics/biggrin1.gif border|EQU| 0 align|EQU| absmiddle ><!--e13-->

Tony,

Unfortunately my 250 gearbox isn't quite as quick as the modern CR250 engined karts. It's a 210 Villiers kart that I re engined with a DT250 motor (couldn't afford the repair costs for the Villiers). On short circuits I can use two gears and it's pretty much on par with 100 and 125's - give it a nice long straight and it's a different story. I've just grafted on a Dellorto 35mm carb so expecting a tad more power on the next outing [img]http://www.ltregister.f9.co.uk/graphics/wink1.gif border|EQU| 0 align|EQU| absmiddle ><!--e3-->

Anyone up North is welcome a blast out on the kart at Warden Law (Sunderland) circuit

Cheers,

Mark
