Is it really worth replacing, I do do quite a few trackdays, and do find the the brakes fade a bit, but they have not warped yet, what advice would anyone give.

I assume that to cure brake fade better (no-squeeling) pads should be fitted.

But would I really notice much difference if I were to spash out on almost £2000 on new disks.

My thinking is to only change disks if they are warping, some poeples are and some are not

Ant,

If your discs are not warped and are not worn then there is no need to replace them.
To reduce the possibility of brake fade, use a good quality high temp brake fluid, goodridge hoses, and a pad that has a good coefficient of friction at the temp that your brakes are operating at. Also fit some extra cooling ducts to your discs.

You will notice a big difference with the above and it will cost a damn site cheaper than £2000!

Sound advice as usual. On my mota, I have good fluid, good hoses, a master cylinder support brace and good pads. Drove a standard 7 the other day and wondered if it was going to stop! The difference in both stopping power and pedal feel is huge. Go down this route Ant, because you need to do all this anyway when converting to AP's. If you then warp your disks. you have the choice between going AP or getting disks that won't warp. This really is a good interim step that might be all you need.

Also important is changing brake fluid at 6 month intervals , at least , 2 maintain braking performance.

Simon, just a point, if you get AP brakes, the hose upgrade is included and you can't buy without I don't believe.

Ants, agree with Advevo - you can't be trying hard enough! I am sure we could warp you discs 4 you :D

Blade - with your driving I'm sure you could!

Maybe because the fronts are grooved - thats the only other reason I can think of

the grooved ones are a lot better.
