For the amount of bhp it provides, I dont think its exactly worth the money . The SR20DETs have it on(S14-S15 onwards), but its not much of an advantage. Its juts like Vtec, it does surve a purpose other than bhp. It also helps fuel millage a bit. But once the boost is wound up, all that goes throught the door:D
Actually, there is a point to it (depending on how it is done)
Shorter duration cams give more torque, longer more power. If the variability is in duration, as well as timing, then it will give the engine both the best torque and power combo.
If it is just variable timing (which is what it appears to be, the gains will be hardly worth it).
The BMW double Vanos system varies the profile - the Vtec system just switches to a different profile. The Ferrari system is clever in that the cam profile is 3 dimensional, and by moving the cam fore/aft, can change the profile drastically. Clever stuff
The new system of camless engines (uses solenoids to actuate the valves under computer control) will totally change the way we look at valve timing.

Wasnt Renault F1 trying to do this earlier this year with no success?
From the book I read(I think SCC, have to check to make sure), which had the same pics and specs, I think said it was just Vtec for a 4G63.

Is it ceramic? Come to that, is that the exhaust manifold ceramic too?
Wonder if it is their lemans spec 4G63 engine..
Designed for mid engined cars

I really doubt it, I havent heard from that program a long time. The mid engined cars have alot more room than you think. I dont exactly know about the ceramic deal, but Ill check it out and get back with you.
looks like the HKS MANIFOLD tony same as the one i bought from mike at HKS . the lemans manifold has the turbo mounted very low . and pipe runners are very long .
