Dave,
I've had the same problem as j888. It's happened twice now and deleting cookies did not work - had to reboot the machine.
Croz
j888, Croz
Can you give me a step by ste example of the problem so I know exactly what I'm chasing.
Cheers
ok, once enter the forum i can read all unread theards then,
if i like to reply i do that and i will be then takin to the thread i replyed to,
but when i come off that screen and go bak into it to read my tread or any other replys it is not there and the none new threads will be avalible for me to read so i dont know if my thread worked or not???
to read it i would have to disconnect the internet and go bak and all new threads plus my replys will be seen, hope you understand dave,
thanx
When you say 'but when i come off that screen and go bak into it to read' how do you do this?
Normally after replying to a thread you will be taken back to your post in the thread after a few secs.
yes, after when im taken back to the theard it is there, then say i go to lancer chat for abit and go back into bugs/suggestions my reply is not there yet?? although it says im the last replier i cannot find my thread or any other replys,
It does sound like a caching issue. Can you check your cache settings in Internet Explorer (tools, internet options, settings) and tell me what your check for newer pages is set to?
I think mine may be caused when I click on "Next Thread" in the "Cars For Sale" section when there aren't any newer ones - the screen goes blank (except for the advertising banner and UserCP button) and hangs rather than displaying the "No Newer Threads" message and then I'm ****ed!
This has caused it twice but it does not always happen!
Croz
PS - Shouldn't the "Last Thread" link be called "Previous Thread"?!
mine is set to never,
its always set like that and i never had problems before. just started a couple days ago, do i need to change the settings??
Set to never means your browser will not check to see if there is a newer version of the page on the web site, but instead pull back a copy of the page it has in it's cache which will be out of date.
Try setting it to every visit to the page and deleting your temporary Internet file to see if it helps.
AHA!!!!
This is the problem I raised in a thread a few days ago!!
Dave, it is all very well adjusting the temp internet files setting to 'check every visit' but when you use your computer the next day it has reverted back to 'never', you can't actually save the changed settings! (well you can't on mine anyway)
This has made the forum a pain in the arse imo Im afraid:D
Before I did adjust the temp internet files setting to 'check every visit' I was using 'disc cleanup' to remove cookies.
Hope this helps.:)
ok, doing everythink you guys said now, changed the settings, earsed all the cookies and temp, fingers crossed again, if it doesnt work im gonna sit at the corner and sulk:(
:D it work, thanks a million dave, your a star:beerchug: im back on track, glad your sorted too remis as it was getting really annoying just to read threads, wot i dont get is my before my setting werent changed it still was fine?? never mind, as long as it works now;)
thanx again dave, if you was near me i treat you to a nice chinese at my restaurant;)

Your computer should keep the temp internet files setting. Are you using a work PC? You may be restricted to what and how things can be changed.
Caching doesn't really work too well with a site like this as it's so dynamic.
