MT, what do I need to get my camera attached to the pc and what software are you using?

Cryptwalk. It's called Pinnacle Studio. It consists of a PCI card that is installed in your PC and software. The card can connect direct to a digital camcorder or via the usual analogue audio/video cables.

You can create MPEG, AVI files and many more.

You can single step at high resolution.

Seems to do everything I want.

You can buy it at PC World for £199. There are also cheaper versions available.

Or you can buy a MacIntosh - It comes with iMovie and iDVD - for free.
