View Full Version : tme wheels
does any1 actually clean them all the time??
i mean after cleaning em for about an hour i take it out and when i come back it black again,
if i dont clean it for awhile will it damage my wheels??
any1 tried those wheel wax at £20 a pop??
There a pain in the ass but you have to do them, brake dust is so corrosive long term. I use the autoglym stuff (clean wheels i think). If you don;t clean em they just get harder to sort next time. I do mine once a week usually.
that means i betta start cleanig them 2mo,they havent been cleaned for a month, dont want em to go bad,
i hate wheels, why cant are cars just fly""!!!!!!:D
I live next to a farm and the wheels are a real pain, had the car 12months. Wheels cleaned weekly and polished quarterly, to no effect, heavily stained, especially the fronts, am thinking of having them painted black in the spring!!!!!!
:D :D what a good ideal, might not looks the best but imagine not cleaning wheels for a week, can spend that with the girlfriend:D :D

i am going for the ****tiest wheels record on my TME, then i am going to throw them away......
cleaning them is the worst job in the world, not even the pykies do them properly
autoglym aint strong enough.....only thing that cuts the mustard (or brake dust) is wonder wheels....(hhhhmmmmm acid)

Same here, I find it gets them clean. The trouble is once you use it and if you don't polish them straight after, you have to use it again as the brake dust seems to stick even harder :D
lee dis you say you throw them away?? might as well give them to me so i can make my new table, clock in my room, laundry basket and that woul leave me with one left,:D :D :D

Tell you what, forget speed cameras, the threat of points on your licence and even being thrown in jail, THE thing that stops me speeding is that when I get home I've got to clean me bloody wheels!!!!!!!!!!
here you go dave, now get on with driving without the need to be worried bout cleaning those pesky wheels:D :D

Same problem here, the thing is they look great when they're clean.
I had my car done by the 'Waxwizard' at the weekend and he uses his own concoction (not acidic) and left the wheels absolutely spotless, right the way through, without taking them off.
I didn't watch him do them but he said you don't even need to brush them, spray on, leave and hose off. He left some of the stuff with me so i'll give it a try myself. It used to take as long to clean the wheels as it did the rest of the car so that's got to be good news!
Kevin.
ok, today i cleaned my wheels before the rain kicksed in, great i thought, i like the nice spanking clean wheels now, problem is the brakes go brown,so a quick drive with gentle braking to get rid of it i thought,
dammit they are black again, i give up, sumone give me black wheels:(

i clean mine every time i take car out but a cleaner called evo gets them back to a brilliant white again but once ive cleaned them i spray them with wd40 especialy behind rims and that way the brake dust dosnt stick to wheels so it washes of very easy
I should imagine their wheels have been refurbished a few times in the intervening 6 1/2 years :)
