Hi,

Just wondering, what is the maximum width rims I could fit on an EVO4? I have 17" x 7" on at the moment. Can I fit 17" x 7.5" or any wider? What will need to be done to fit the rims? :) I have heard that I may need to "roll the wheel arches" - what is this exactly? Can anyone please explain?

Cheers.

Have fitted 17X7.5 on my E4 with 225/45R17 tires. Was told before you couldn;t fit these wheel/tire combi on a 4. No rubbing on the fenders, clears the suspension just right. Will try to find the offset of my wheels and post it here or mail you.

Here's a picture my car. It's also on the thread "MY CAR" in the picture gallery, but Hesperus played with the image to make the car look like the wheels are 18" or 19" in diameter. How I wish!!! :D

Sorry, I can't seem to figure out how to delete an old attachment and put in a new one, the darn PC does something else! Here it is! ;)

I can already hear Claudius snickering about my OE ride-height........... LOL! :D

I`m interested in the ET and fabricate of RS`s rims. If RS coluld mail me or preferably post relevant info here!?.

Are your front brakes standard or Brembos from E5/6/7? This because the Brembo calipers in front build a lot, and tend to limit the rims available.. for E4.

This been checked:
Compomotive: say they don`t have any rims to fit E4 w Brembos. TSW: the same.
OZ: I don`t know where to ask to get a reliable answer, but have tried the Superleggera 7x17 ET40; no good, checked w the Norwegian and Danish importer, they are not to interested.
MOMO: nothing available
Thankfull for any advice!!

Don`t want to modify the rear arches of my slim.. car, so stnd rims from E5/6.. no way...?

Norw,

I'll try to look for the off-set of the wheels on my car. It should be stamped there somewhere!

I am still running the OE brakes for the 4 (non-brembo). I'll see if I can fit a friend's AP kt on the fornts with my current wheels as well.

Nice car & wheels!.

I use the car on rough surface/snow/ice etc, so must have not soft springs, but springs that give me and car a fair chance in daily commuting..

Aswell will try to stay with 17" because of access to and cost of tyres.:(

Next move in my fairly relaxed.. search for wheels is to trial fit OZ superturismos 7,0x17,(yes not 7,5x17) think(hope) they will clear the Brembo calipers. Nearly sure they will clear the rear arches:) . They will not be to far off the original ET: 5 mm`s each side..

Which fabricate are those rims? ET?

NorW,

Got to ask about my wheels. Its ET46, 17X7.5 fitted with 225/45R17 tires with no rubbing in 4 months of use.

Take note, my 225/45R17 Falken Azenis ST115 tires seem a bit smaller compared to other tire brands, so this might be the cause of no rubbing on the wheel arches given my bigger than usual tire size for an E4. :)

Thanks!:D

And all original plastic in wheelarches front an rear is intact?

I`ve got 7,0x17, ET 45, with Dunlop 45/225. After removing one lug that holds the reararch rearplastic they don`t touch in the rear, but close!. My next tyre will be 215/40, understand that 40 is better than 45 on track with a rigid body/suspension.

Youre rim is appr. 5 mm closer than mine to the arch. Close :D

Just installed Compomotive TH2 17 x 7,5 with ET 38 on my 4.

Works well with Falken 451 in dim 215 x 45, will try 225 x 40 later.

I am using using Brembos front and rear.

Only mods are to car is:
-the thin metal sheating on the rear had to be altered.
-One lug in the rear arch that holds the plastic protection in the rear is modified

As of yet no touching of wheel in the front arches or the rear. I will be on track this weekend to test things..

We have original E4 brakes and are looking for some new alloys too. Could you post some pics of your cars with your new wheels?

Thanks Heather.:)

Spent a few houres on track this weekend. No touching of wheels in the arches front or rear. Standard E7 Brembo calipers and discs used with Ferrodo DS2500 and amateur braking, no vibration during or afterwords(yet).

Brembos are a good upgrade for a EVO 4, and cheap!.

Will post pictures of the car. Need to get a camera sorted this week.
