View Full Version : lowering springs
any ideas on which ones to suggest?
i was thinking about HKS or Eibach's, but not sure what the diff. is other than the colour! my car will have larger wheels and lower profile tyres but keeping the rolling radious the same. I would therefor prefer a softer initial spring rate than the standard ones in order to have an element comfort.
Any other suggestions will be most welcome.

Fast n furious
I had the same dilema and after a bit of thinking went for the Eibachs, mainly as they were cheap. Got the fitted and the car not only looks superb, but the ride is lightly softer on bumpy roads with better turn in. I have only driven 40 mile or so yet, will get suspensipon aligned the will report back.
Cannot comment on HKS apart from it is expensive if you do not like it, Eibachs so far come recommended from everyone

The HKS ones will lower the car further than the Eibach ones. However Ive heard some people who have the HKS ones having problems with rubbing the arches after they have fitted 18" wheels.
I have the Eibachs fitted plus 18's and have had no problems at all with wheel arch clearance. Being a progressive rate spring the Eibachs take the roughness out of bumpy town roads and are much more comfortable than the OEM springs. They tighten up nicelly when you open the car up and start to press on. Its at this point that you will notice a better turn in feel and the car has less tendancy to bounce around on fast uneven roads.
Get the Eibachs and with the money you save put it towards a good 3pt front strut brace :)
Guys,
I think i'm going to go for Eibachs. Who makes the softest springs??? I really am not too sure.
