I've got one of these fitted in my car and its probably gonna break soon - it must be the only bit i haven't destroyed yet. Has anyone heard of a UK supplier as the Exedy Jap website wasn't much help when it comes to overseas distributers.

what makes you say it's about to break? due to wear and tear? or abuse? or both? what are symptoms its about to break?

i have exactly the same unit on my car, and while I don't launch the car or abuse the clutch, the exedy twinplate is known to be quite strong. a mate of mine had 380HP (@ the wheels!) and would drag race his evo regularly, and the clutch could take the power (for at least a few races anyway).

exedy and CUSCO actually use the same clutch discs, so if you can find a Cusco dealer, then you should be heading in the right direction.

Cheers!

Cusco clutches are made by Exedy, who are a UK company!!!

They are based near Warrington I believe.

You may be able to get a replacement cheaper from them....

The clutch will break because it is mechanical and it belongs to me and i've got a very good reputation for breaking stuff - having just mangeled my gearbox, driveshafts and transfer box in one bit of sideways action the clutch must be next - you get me.

I have since found out that Exedy have a European distributer called 'Daikin Clutch Europe' who carry the complete range of Exedy clutches and replacement parts, and yes they are in Runcorn, Cheshire. If Exedy make Cusco clutches this is the place to order them from. email the nice clutch people on:
r.ford@daikinclutch.co.uk - they will only deal with trade enquiries.

Have you tried to email daikin? I sent them a email from my company asking about evo clutches...No reply as yet. Did anyone else try and get any luck?

Just FYI guys...Exedy is a Japanese company, and is owned by Daiken, which is the largest supplier of clutches to OEM Japanese cars..they also make the aftermarket units for many firms including Cusco and HKS among others (Ralliart, etc.)

If anyone ever wants one, let us know...we stock them

Just a quick update, as we have now been using the ORC clutches out of Japan......very driveable, and unreal holding capacity.....they have clutches that will hold nearly 700 lb/feet of torque for the Evo's. Prices are a bit more than Exedy, so defiantely not cheap, but quality is first rate and they are very smooth.
