View Full Version : Ralliart fast road conversion
Has anybody had this done and if so is it worth the money circa £500. If not what would you suggest as first suspension mods? I am thinking front/rear strut braces and then do the springs but unsure of what to go for not in the £1000s

Mark,
Ralliart recommend changing the springs but to leave the dampers as they are.
I have added a rear strut brace and it does improve things.
Next trip to Ralliart will see a set of Eibachs and a geometry set up.

Front and rear strut tower bars are good, they made a night-and-day difference in my car when I installed them.
You can also install a third stiffening bar in the trunk. Remove the carpet and behind the trunk (the area nearest you when you open the trunklid) and you will see two screws about 3 feet apart near the rear trunk-wall where the tailights mount. If this doesn;t have a stiffening bar of sorts installed, you can buy one from Ralli-Art (waay to pricey) or have your local fabrication shop make you one.
Next are lower arm braces front and rear. These form an X-brace of sorts on the bottom side of the suspension members and help keep suspension geometry consistent under hard cornering on rough surfaces and are bolted onto the subframes of the car. As a bonus, it helps protect the sump and oil filter at the front and the rear diff out back.
IMHO a chassis can never bee too stiff, especially with a fat-******* of a driver like me at the helm! :)
