Hi all,
I'm replacing the exhaust on my e6 and want to know which bits it's best to replace. I am assuming that i need to do the exhaust, downpipe (and extension) and decat pipe. Do you recon it's worth replacing the manifold too? they're real expensive, like a grand for an hks one... is it really worth it?
tx
best set up
rc developments manifold ,out flows the HKS unit
HKS TURBO ELBO
then any down pipe and exhaust so long as it is 3" and does not have the tight bends at the back .
i hold 2 bar boost with this set up
i wouldnt go replacing the manifold unless you needed to or you where going for loads of power . But changing the down pipe - decat pipe- and the last section are good ways of getting a little more bhp
What if one goes for 2-1/2" piping instead of 3"??? Any experience??

Cheers for that. What I really want is the best increase in power without a loss in lowdown torque and it not to be too much louder on motorways. What I was thinking of is:
Magnex downpipe
Magnex decat pipe
HKS Superdrager
Does this make sense? the Magnex downpipe is loads cheaper than the HKS one, don't know why.... Do you know if I need to buy the turbo elbow in addition to the downpipe, or is it included like it is with the HKS one... (I believe).
Thanks all ;-)

Dan,
Fitting a bigger bore exhaust will mean you will lose a bit of low down torque. This is due to the fact that you will slow down the exhaust gas at low engine speeds and so it won't spin the turbo as much as it did before.
The advantage however is that you reduce the exhaust back pressure and so at the middle to high end of the rev range, the turbo can spin more freely and hence will give you more power.
AFAIK, the Magnex downpipe doesn't come with a turbo elbow but you can probably get away without one for now.
Also, it may be worth going for the HKS Hiper Muffler rather than the SuperDragger. The Muffler is less restrictive and yet still isn't particularly loud on motorways or idle but it gets loud when you start to give it some :D:D:D

No elbow with the Magnex downpipe, and definately go for the Hiper over the Superdragger, no comparison. If you dont mind the noise the Blitz is even better, if alittle loud for some.It can be made quieter with use of the supplied bung but you lose 16bhp for the pleasure.
I`m near Sherburn In Elmet if you want to sample a Magnex/Blitz combo.
Rich :)
May also be worth considering the PE downpipe with integrated turbo elbow , expensive but cheaper than HKS downpipe and elbow.
Also the Blitz Nur Spec R is a quality bit of kit all stainless, bit loud, but for day to day use I simply put the restrictor in for peace and quiet and take it out when I want a bit of fun :D
3" all the way except for a silly little waste , easily removed as numerous other people have done on this forum.
Got mine from Justin at tourqe I.C. , top bloke worth giving him a call.

My VII has a Haywood and scott, decat etc.
3' rolled lip....dont know about power but its IMHO its the nicest sounding exhaust Ive heard on an EVO.
Nice burble, but on full chat it sounds awesome!

Hello friends,
I want to replace my exhaust system on my Evo VII GSR 2002. I have concerns about the two lambda probes. What do I need to do with them? (Second probe on the catalyst)
