Rim size for snow tires

What cheap after market wheels can I get for snow tires, even steel wheels.

I'm glad somebody mentioned snowtyres. Given the way it was sliding about last year on 225/45's I'd quite like something better for the worst of the winter. Its ok to bounce off the snowbanks in Sweden but ain't qute so good in Yorkshire!!

I'm guessing narrower steel wheels would be best, any thoughts?

Personally I keep the same size rims but use winter tyres, eg Michelin Pilot Sport Alpins or the VR rated Conti winter tyres. At least I know that the wheels will still fit over the callipers
