Just had my 260 upgraded at WRC tech with their 330 pack + BOV. Came away with 360hp and 350torque (ATF) nearly 100hp increase over std. Jeez those guys know their stuff...... now I know what an evo should be like.....

Sounds good mate, any pics of the parts fitted?

Its all the APS stuff - 3" turbo back exh with decat, cold air induction and new spray resv, BOV and an ecutek remap. All the pics of the bits are on the wrc-tech website mate. Let me say the quality of the parts is first class and the exhaust (all stainless) is not that much louder than a std one - not like some I have heard that boom and resonate in the cabin!! I was gonna have intercooler fitted - but thats another 700+ quid all done and prob only another 10hp.

I only expected 330ish with the std APS WRC pakage kit that went on - I think even wrc were impressed - it gained 70hp ATW! for under £2K.

You can email them to dave g on here and he will put the graph under mlr modified, which is under the registry at the top otf the page. is compares all the moddded cars on here, if you go into the rolling road section then the first menu is dave g which tells you all about it, did wrc explain why your car came out with the good fiqures

emailed graphs to OLI - so they should be up soon. I will also post them on to Dave G.... soon.

Chris at wrc who did the final mapping didnt really say why the numbers came out so good, he just kept making adjustments, doing another run and figures kept going up :) .... he said that 330 was a gteed figure which is always met with the kit - but often exceeded - just not often by this much. I think I was just fortunate that my car responded well to the kit and retune - must have a good motor :coolsm: .

Amazingly, they said the first test run in std kit was one of the lowest they had seen on an 05 260! - poss down to the poor exhaust fitment (lots of ridges and bad alignment).

Having now driven a few miles, I still cant believe the difference... its just astonishing.. didnt realise how under powered the 260 was.... never thought I'd say that

No alan did not charge me for the extra horses....... he said they were free like the Tea.... :D

Here you go mate. I must say i'm impressed the torque is very good as well for the mods.

did he up the boost to get the power then turn it down a few degrees to see what you could get, or is it what you have at this minute,

Cheers OLI......

Paul.....this was the last of the runs..... so its what I have now. With std ECUTEK remap it was pulling 261ATW after adjustments it went to around 267 then the AFR was off - too rich. When this was corrected another 6hp appeared! Boost is set to usual levels for the 330 pack as far as I know.

The car has only done 3000 miles, so will hopefully still loosen up a bit - so another dyno run later this year will check things out. :smthumbup

Makes my figures look rather pants considering i have similar-ish parts fitted

Paul, Sim, what max boost dyu get to (in Bar)? Also, I note that Paul has replaced the fuel pump - was this just a choice or did you get probs as the hp went up?

:secret: get the intercooler, you'll get a wee bit more BUT the staying-power of a porn-star ;) trust me i know  ...

Well done bud, try not to scare yourself too much and remember to brake earlier - "it don't be slowin' down anymore off-throttle :p :D "

Njoy,
danny.

Pump advantage is over sustained heavy (track) useage, the longevity of the original is compromised in that scenario - hot track day (please at least one this year) and you'll notice the difference...

Danny - I understood the std one was good for about 400hp in normal conditions. You are saying that the uprated one kicks in when screaming about flat out for longer periods - hmmm... better get one then !!

My next upgrade will be HPS susp (you and craig sold this to me some months back!)- then its brakes. I am trying the EBC red stuff pads on std rotors to see first. But I think better rotors and pads will be needed to make a true difference - the std calipers sem a high enough spec for most things.....

My car is running at max 1.62 bar of boost

Gingerpimp
11-04-2006, 08:19
 STD BRAKES  ...live long and prosper son V
...calipers are fine IMHO, rotors are ok for the road but do heat-up and fade to quickly when pushed ( :secret: especially with that new power on tap, that's in the region of 50% over your std output :flame: , Ooo-hot) - as an example, i run similar figures and i rubbed the dots off a set of Performance Friction rotors with the std calipers and the PF pads - maybe i brake too much

Njoy what you have and save a couple of pound a day for the intercooler that way you'll appreciate more what you already have... ;) ...when all the new power becomes second nature make the change and you'll appreciate the extra longevity - end of the summer :D :D :D ;)

 = 260 Day1
:coolsm: = 260 after Day1...

Roadhog... 1.4bar max i believe

Oli
11-04-2006, 22:23
with 260.9whp i'm at 1.55bar max

my boost gauge reads 23psi and tapers to 19 - 20psi

Roadhog
11-04-2006, 22:47
:) hm.... mine flies up to peak at about 1.4bar momentarily then runs at about 1.3 / 1.35 through a dyno run

BTW - Thanks to all for the feedback :beerchug:

Its great how things have moved on since WRC first squeezed 330bhp out of a 260.

Was it Scoop who was the first to take the plunge?

Nick.

:adore: scoop was a pioneer
...others have followed             ...and in some cases gone further, i guess the 260 is an Evolution afterall :D ;)
