Blocking out Guests ??

Is it possible to activate a feature that blocks out all 'Guests' from a thread should the author of a thread wish to ?

There's not a standard facility that allows it, but with some effort it could be added. As an alternative I would suggest using a members only section of the forum rather than restricting individual posts as this would be standard functionality.

Not sure if we would want to add this though. What's your reason for asking? The MLR are still intending to differentiate between different groups of users (e.g. guests, users, traders, paid up MLR members) on the board at some point in the future and each user group will have different facilities and levels of access. I would imagine that there will be an MLR members only section then if this helps.

I just want to stop flush out the sneeky buggers like Blade, Japracer, Claudius etc from their hiding places in the shadows.

If they cant see our threads because they want to skulk around in the shadows like dogs - then it might flush them out again ;)

Take a look at my reponse on the other thread regarding guests. Most of these guys do not log as guests, but as themselves they just choose not to be seen.

Right now the board says there 19 members online, but if you count the members there are only 17 being shown. This is nearly always the case as a lot of members choose to be invisible.

What's wrong with a bit of anonymity every now and again??

I know I browse in here sometimes as a 'guest' as I'm on a mates pc and cannot remember my password and like to keep tabs on current slatings...ermm I mean debates ;)
