Hi Guys,

I need some help diagnosing a problem.

I have just had my car returned to me and I can hear a "thumping" noise coming from the back right hand side suspension.

The closest comparison I can make is the noise you car makes as it goes over the rumble strips but much quiter, I have sat a mate in the back and he said he can definatly hear the noise and feel the vibration.

I had a strut replaced on the opposite side under warrenty a few months ago with extreme, but that was completely different symptoms, sqeak at low speeds over bumps, this noise is constant

It is almost like the wheel is out of balance, but I have had the wheel off and checked it, the weights are still on it, and there is no visable damage.

I don't think it is a wheel bearing or a hub as I had that replaced by Steve Hill motorsport cause it was knackered. hmm I don't know, suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers,

Sorry, don't mean to stalk you, but I think I have had this problem for 6 months, so would be interested to know if you find out what it is.

I can tell you it isn't the spare wheel, toolkit, jack or exhaust. As I think we both have Eibach springs, maybe its something related to this.

The only bushes showing movement on mine are the rear anti-roll bar, but I can't see how it could make this noise.

MrSprint,

I had a chat with Steve Hill this morning about this.

They were most helpful as all ways, and even offered to advise the chap who does work on my EVO when I am in the Isle of Man if he has trouble tracking it down.

Top suspect is Strut (damper\shock) at the moment. I will know more when it has been stripped down tonight.

Get those anti roll bushes changed! Wont help the handling at all if there is play in them.

I will advise you of progress, and hopefully you can get yours sorted as well.

Cheers,
