I will defently be going again ,
will you be having a lancer parade lap again i missed out last year as i had only had the evo a week and did not have time to book a space on the club display
Dafydd
I'd have like to have gone to this but its bloody miles away, mutter
Lancer Parade is less likely this year as it got a bit out of hand (not Castle Combe's marshalls Words!). The problem was the number of cars - there was a continuous line of cars all the way around the track and still more coming out. An M25 full of Lancer's springs to mind.
It was enjoyable though.

Maybe you could send cars out in there small groups ,ie: 1s together 2s together 3s together (can you see where i am headed yet :) )
looked a good crack last year and a perfect oppertunity for all the peolpe (me at top of list )to scared to track our cars properly .
would really love a 'slowish ' ride around the track

Ryan .
'miles away ?' its not that far and is worth the jornney i will be traviling from north wales to this (only two tank fulls :) ) ,and i know last year there was a few scottish lads there .
this will be the biggest lancer/evo event of 2002 there was well over 60 evos there last year and the only event , that you will see that sort of numbers all parked next to one another EVER

If anyone has any interest in Rally cars or their road going homolgations of any description then put July 27th in your diary.
Have a look at the official site as Brian mentioned <a href|EQU| http://www.rallyday.com/ target|EQU| _blank ><!--auto-->http://www.rallyday.com/</a><!--auto--> or for some more photos have a look at <a href|EQU| http://www.rallydayphotos.cjb.net target|EQU| _blank ><!--auto-->http://www.rallydayphotos.cjb.net</a><!--auto-->
Brian,
Will that Lancia Rally 037 be back again?...and dare I say it, this time going round the track, even just a parade lap? (I am dribbling at the thought....[img]http://www.lancerregister.com/graphics/tongue1.gif border|EQU| 0 align|EQU| absmiddle ><!--e4-->)
How do we book to be there then? Would love to be there :)
Can I set up a trade stand with all my lovely Lancer bits ????
Can I also organise a Supra vs Evo owners tug of war ????
ROFL !!!!!
Justin

Count us in.
Shame about the parade lap, really enjoyed it.
For those that missed it, should have been 30mph, ended up nearer 130!!
Great fun, my missus was in a right state by the end of it!!

How do we go about having all the Lancers parked together?? will there be a place for all MLR members and do that way. Seen the vid of last year and seeing all those Evo's 2gether is really awesome.
The way we managed the impressive lineup's last year was that people reserved their places in the paddock by buying their driver admission ticket in advance. Then before the event we sent out the admission ticket and paddock pass. Passengers can pay on the day if they wish and amp; kids come free.
<font size|EQU| 2 >All paddock parking for car clubs this year must be booked in advance and before the booking cutoff date - this will be highlighted on the form.
All track time must be booked in advance and will be strictly subject to availability.
All bookings must be made via the event booking forms so we can ensure we get proper details and people get their tickets.
</font><!--2-->
<blockquote><hr> Paddock parking access and track time can not be purchased on the day <hr></blockquote>
WHY?
We know from last year that the paddock will be chocka block with car clubs, rally teams and traders it takes a lot to work out who goes where and how much space everyone can have. As soon as you start letting additional cars in on the day it can get ****ed up so that is why we have no other realistic option other than doing it this way.
Booking forms for track time and paddock parking will be available on the <a href|EQU| http://www.rallyday.com target|EQU| _blank ><!--autohttp-->http://www.rallyday.com</a><!--autohttp--> website from 1st Feb. Copies of booking forms will also be sent out to every MLR member with the next club Mag.

Brian,
I sent you a mail about possibly doing a National Meet at this. Mailed it to the rallycar email address, did you get it? What d'you think?
Andy
Definitely makes sense for the National MLR gathering given the response last year.
On a different topic, I've just had confirmation that Tony Mason will be doing the commentry.
Brian
Do we buy tickets from here or just turn up on the day?

Brian,
Speaking of commentary, I know I asked before (the old memory is not like it was you know) but is it possible for the commentary to be piped over to the far side of the track (i.e. Quarry). Last year the rally motors were flying round there and no one knew what they were, their history or who was driving (i.e. Pentti) unless you were in the know. It certainly would have made it more interesting for the less knowledgeable bods.
I think you said there were some restrictions though as to what they could use PA wise?
Adey
You definitely need to pre book if you want to park in the Paddock on the MLR stand. Without a car pass on the day you will be diverted to the general car park. Booking forms available at <a href|EQU| http://www.rallyday.com target|EQU| _blank ><!--auto-->http://www.rallyday.com</a><!--auto-->
Colin
We are working with the circuit management on a way of solving the commentry at quarry corner problem. This, believe it or not, isnt very straightforward as is needs special planning permission - the circuit gets more complaints about commentry noise than car noise.

I'll be coming! Great day out last year and was on the 'Mitsubishi Lancer Evo Story' video to boot. Make sure you brake before Quarry Corner!!!!!!!
I'll be there (might have to bring the missus too!). Does anyone know of a reasonable B|PLS|B nearby for the Friday night? Anybody else likely to be around for a shandy or two on the Friday?
Brian
How soon do you need the money for the tickets?
Teri
Anyone wishing to guarantee a space in the paddock or book track time should register <font size|EQU| 4 >asap </font><!--4-->using the booking form on <a href|EQU| http://www.rallyday.com target|EQU| _blank ><!--auto-->http://www.rallyday.com</a><!--auto--> . Given the current rate of bookings already we can guarantee they will be sold out well before the day. We are getting confirmations from several of the attending clubs with most of them requiring more space than last year. We are aiming for 100 evo's in the paddock which we should make ok with your support.
Brian
Brian
I am sending mine off to you this weekend, also I will take a few booking forms to the BIG ONE Scooby/EVO meet this Sunday for the MLR guys.
Teri
Brian,
I'll be comming to this now, you'll be glad to hear that everyone I have talked to gave last year rave reviews, I'll sort out the reg form today!
R
I'll be there, sent the cheque off last week.
Is the Midlands crew driving up together?
If so, where from?
I'll probably join it.
Adey
I will try to organise a Midlands crew meet-up/drive to Castle Combe a bit nearer the date. Let me know what area you are from (mail if you like)
Teri (MLR Midlands-Meets)
Great to hear that everyones coming again and that the reviews were good. Whilst everyone can sort out convoy logistics closer to the date it helps us a lot to get the bookings in soon. That way we can finalise the paddock layout which helps us get things like the event programmes designed and printed.
Couple of new confirmations:
Paddy Hopkirk will now be opening the Feature Stage in an original works Mini and the MG X-Power Etreme rally team will be doing rally rides all day in copies of the Gwyndaf Evans JWRC cars.

Looking fwd to this one.

Brian,
My wifes sister and familly will be coming.
i'll be applying to park in the paddock along with the MLR and i will be having (if available) track time.
Questions:
Is it normal to have more than one session(5/6 laps)? as i would like to have at least 2.
are there morning and afternoon track sessions?
Where would they park their Audi?(they would like to park with me, but i don't know about the ettiquet at these things![img]http://www.lancerregister.com/graphics/embarassed1.gif border|EQU| 0 align|EQU| absmiddle ><!--e6-->)
Do they have to book in advance?
Cheers
Colie
Hi Colie
2 track sessions is fine, make sure you get them highlighted and amp; paid for with the booking form.
Regarding the Audi, only Quattro Turbo's in the paddock i'm afraid (Now 37 booked through the quattro owners club!!). The general parking place is not far from the Paddock so your friends will not have to walk far.
Cheers hope you all enjoy the day.
Brian
i've just added this rally day to my events page :)
Ish

Brian
I know this is going to be a silly question, but have any Lancer Turbos registered any places?
If any are reading this and are thinking of coming along, last years show was FANTASTIC!
I would be interested to hear from any Lancer Turbo drivers toying with the idea, so that we can try and line them up together or in a formation that ties in with Brians plans.
Brian,
I have emailed you about the BBQ situation. No reply, did you receive them?
Andy
On the parking front....
I have decided to drive down in the Galant VR4 (it's a 98 though not like the pre lancer rally ones), as I thought there'd be planty of Evo's there and mine's nothing special so thought I'd come down in something different.
Would I be required to park elsewhere away from the MLR? I am a fully paid up member :D
DOH! Double post. My first one, I am no longer a double post virgin, must light myself a fag :)
Don't know whether I can make it on the day, but I've sent off the cheque/booking form just in case.
Hope there's still some space. Looking forward to it.
Davy T
Looks like there might be a few VR4's coming which will be located either with MLR or very near.
