Down/dump pipes

Hi,
I have got a choice of two dump/down pipes for factory turbo, 1 is 3inch exhaust with a seperate pipe for the wastegate with vents to the atmosphere and the other one has 2 2.5inch pipe one from the exhaus and one from the wastegate going into a 3inch pipe. Which one is better?
Anyone had any experience with as dump/down pipe with a 3inch exhaust and a seperate wastegate pipe venting into the atmosphere on the factory turbo?

From what i`ve heard the VTA is *very* loud, far too loud to be used on the road infact.

Whats up with the normal type??
