View Full Version : MLR Southern RR day - 8th Sept
Hi Everyone,
Yes it's time for the second MLR Southern RR day - the last one back in February was such a success we're doing it all again on Saturday 8th September at Tuning Japanese in Aldershot and already have cars booked in (2 Evo7's, E6GSR and E4GSR) with every car and amp; owner getting the following from the day . . .
* minimum two power runs per car
* comprehensive graph plotting power curve, torque curve, maximum boost, as well as
exhaust and oil temps, etc.
* T-J staff on hand to explain the graphs
* prize for highest power figure of the day
* 5% discount on all parts ordered on the day; T-J stock upgrades from HKS,Mongoose, Trust, Apexi to name a few!
* 10% discount on parts if you've spent your hard-earned elsewhere and your car doesn't perform as expected (see Tim @ T-J on the day)
* free tea and coffee throughout the day
* catering on site for snacks
* other freebies
* Tim is also quietly confident they'll be able to cure any little niggles your car may be suffering from, so although the day is primarily aimed at power runs, they'll delve a little deeper if time allows!
Just to make it a little more interesting we've invited the GTO boys and girls along too - nothing wrong with a little friendly Mitsubishi rivalry! [img]http://www.ltregister.f9.co.uk/graphics/Happy.gif border|EQU| 0 align|EQU| middle >
Cost for a place on the day is only £25. To book please send your cheque to:
PO Box 2740, Radstock, Bath, BA3 2XZ along with both yours and your cars details. If you have any further questions please email me at <a href|EQU| mailto:support@ultrascripts.com >darin@lancerregister.com</a><!--url-->
See ya!

I will pop along (just to get that mug off Darin he promised me from the last time [img]http://194.93.140.171/graphics/wink1.gif border|EQU| 0 align|EQU| absmiddle ><!--e3-->) but I won't be going on the rollers unless I have me new motor by then [img]http://194.93.140.171/graphics/wink1.gif border|EQU| 0 align|EQU| absmiddle ><!--e3--> (I doubt it [img]http://194.93.140.171/graphics/sad1.gif border|EQU| 0 align|EQU| absmiddle ><!--e2-->)
(Hang on I don't want to tempt fate! My engine got shagged 5 days before the last TJ R/R!...errrrr...probably won't see you there then).
SteveC,
Are you going? I think a 205 talk is needed, bring your podium [img]http://194.93.140.171/graphics/wink1.gif border|EQU| 0 align|EQU| absmiddle ><!--e3-->
HH, I'll be there to test out my latest Evo tweaks. Would bring the 205 but a. I don't want the lowest dyno figure of the day and b. I've shagged the gearchange linkage [img]http://194.93.140.171/graphics/Sad.gif border|EQU| 0 align|EQU| middle > - but we can talk Pug, no problem (at last, someone who isn't bored by it [img]http://194.93.140.171/graphics/TooHappy.gif border|EQU| 0 align|EQU| middle > )
Croz - I'm coming from near Bromley. Drop me a mail if you want to convoy.
Steve.

SteveC,
Didn't expect you to bring the Pug mate so no problem there! It will be good to meet up at last.
Well me and my big mouth! I tempted fate with my last posting and it caught up with me.....ARSE! Time for a Hamlet moment..........bom...bom...bom....
I'll also be coming along.

What time does all the action start and what time are most of you getting there ?
Darin will be confirming later this week, but I think it's a 9am start. Don't count on me being there then, I'm jiggered after getting up at 5am for Trax and fancy a bit of a lie in this Saturday!
Steve.

Have fun guys, can't make it this time.
Kevin
Hi everyone,
Sorry I haven't been here for a while - waaay too much going on at the moment AND couldn't access the site (!!!) due to problems with F9 . . . but back now!
The day is going to kick off around 9am as Steve rightly said and at the moment it's all 6's and 7's - that's Evo6's and Evo7's, with a Skyline and 'something English' thrown in for good measure :) It would be good to see some earlier 1 -5 cars coming along to join in the fun and boost the numbers - yes you CAN pay on the day :D
Please post here if you do intend coming as it would good to get an idea of numbers.
See you Saturday!

Well what a great day.
Real nice to put some faces to names (steve,clive,darin...)
Very happy that my standard E6 pushed out 280bhp. (Can't wait to get my full decatted Magnex next week !)
Thanks Darin for a great day out !
Yes THANKS! Darrin for a good day. Seems the standard E7 produces very good results (mine had best figures of 309BHP-DIN / 282lb-ft) which is as near as dammit what I obtained from the E5|PLS|stage1 on the same road in Oct 2000, so I am pleased. Thanks again!

Yep good day. Good to put some names to faces and to talk about Ev........205's and integrales ;)
I think there was a general consenus from the people I spoke to that the 7's were very impressive out of the box especially torque wise with a fair margain gained over the 6's. Looks like Mitsubishi are going in the right direction, they even are starting to look quite good once you get used to them ;)
Another good MLR day, well done Darin.
Yeh, cheers Darin good day, just a shame out of all the members that only a small percentage turned up. One of the benefits of being in a club like this is the subsidized events organised by Darin, but they really need more people to come along to make it worthwhile. Anyway, had a laugh met some guys from the forum and watched my mate grin from ear to ear when his slightly modified R33 Skyline produced 411BHP, best of the day. I was a little worried myself when after the first run my car produced 167BHP and after consultation with the experts I removed the Blitz filter to reveal in the intake pipe a pair of soiled socks with Mark B on the name tag [img]http://www.lancerregister.com/graphics/laugh1.gif border|EQU| 0 align|EQU| absmiddle ><!--e8--> . 2nd run, socks removed, and max power of 303.5BHP, filter and full exhaust with standard boost, plenty of potential I think! now where's that phone number of my Bank manager.................:)
Another good day, another excuse for loads of banter and putting faces to names - Heave, Mark, Gary, Corkey, Croz. Good show of 7's, the first time I've seen that many together and yes, they do look good in the metal (flame suit on). That said, some people turned up in cars they had to hide around the corner - you know who you are...... [img]http://www.lancerregister.com/graphics/Wilk.gif border|EQU| 0 align|EQU| middle >
Let's get a few more out next time, these events are good value for money. Ta again to Darin for sorting it all.
Steve.

Yeah I even sneaked into that one even though I didn't go on the R/R ;)
Forgot me For Sale sign though...arse!
Yeah, good day out and good to meet a few people from the MLR - cheers to Darin for organizing it.
Well chuffed with the figures for my bog-standard 7, just need to save up a few bob for the mods and I'll be laughing :).
Just a thought - this may have been done before (?) but would it be worth letting some of the car mags know when the next RR day is? I know that Redline for instance has a regular Rolling Road Shootout and they may be interested in doing a feature. Would no doubt increase the number of cars turning up and generate publicity for the MLR. May even get a discount from the RR since they would also be getting free publicity!

Check out Jap Performance a while back for the Northern area MLR R/R day expose.
My thanks to everyone who came along and made it a good day (albeit a little quieter than last time!) and also Tim, Ike and the lads for all their efforts leading up to the day and during it.
It was really good to see so many E7's get strapped to the rollers, see some new faces and to hear that everyone enjoyed it . . . . but that's the whole point isn't it?!!! :)
Cheers,
